This is probably the absolutely best Mexican Restaurant in the State of Hawaii, if not the best on the Western Half of the US…..we are so lucky to have them.

Food was way too salty. When I asked if there was a low sodium option, the waiter/cook/possibly owner got all snarky, and was rude and abrupt for the rest of the time. We will not be back.

This place is the epitome of the 3.5 star rule. The food is insanely good. Maybe the owner/cook wasn't what you had in mind, but maybe you gotta loosen up a bit on your expectations and give people room to be themselves. The server/bartender was phenomenal. Just don't wear a tank top (men), wait at the door, be respectful, and when you take your first bite, you'll understand why the man takes this place so seriously. Cheers

Went to meet my friends for dinner, who were already seated. I walked in maybe 10 minutes later and “beelined” it for the bathroom, after the long commute from the other side of the island. I was aware of the sign saying the bathroom was for “paying customers only”… however, since I went straight to the bathroom and not straight to my table first (where my friends were at) , the chef (the man all these crazy and horrible reviews seem to be about) unfortunately snapped at me and pretty much ruined my experience from the start. Questioned who I was upon entering and what my business in the restaurant was. He said they get a lot of “foot traffic”
Off the streets. Understandable, but I don’t think that someone wearing a Kangol bucket hat and Clark shoes, is a threat to the restaurant. Not like I looked homeless or anything. Don’t waste your time eating here unless you want to be harassed, just like all 20+*** reviews written about this guy below. The absolute “huffy puffy” mentality and attitude this guy had is so not needed and was so unnecessary in this situation. You think after reading all these reviews, homeboy would get a “clue”. Should’ve checked here before going :( super unfortunate, the lady waitress was nice but beyond stressed- she needs help and this guys gotta go or atleast learn the basics of hospitality.

Freshest guacamole in town!! Owner was super sweet and kind. Great service and the drinks were amazing. Had the strawberry Fresca and it did not disappoint!! Highly recommend if you are in the area.

The first time I tried to go here with my husband, we were turned away by an angry man due to his sleeveless shirt. Despite that experience, my friend and I wanted Mexican food and decided to check this place out tonight. Even with Cinco de Mayo around the corner, the place was empty, but the atmosphere was fun with upbeat music and funky decor. We were kindly greeted by our lovely waitress, and she told us about their great Cinco de Mayo offers which we gladly took her up on. $5 Margaritas and $5 Palomas and some of the most delicious and hearty tacos I’ve ever eaten. The short rib and shrimp tacos were divine. I look forward to coming back!

My family and I spotted what looked like a great Mexican place with beautiful outdoor seating. We walked in the front door and tried to peek outside for a better view when a big, tall intimidating man with a goatee immediately started yelling at us to wait to be seated and read the sign. I've never felt so unwelcome at a restaurant and never treated this rudely . We did not stay and will never return. I see multiple other reviewers with similar observations. This guy should not be in the hospitality business.

Did not have a chance to try it. When we entered, the place was quiet, so we walked towards the outdoor area to check it out. The large man from the kitchen began yelling at us to wait to be seated, as he angrily pointed towards a sign. He continued to yell, “read the sign.” My husband and I started off with the idea that this could be our new , cool Mexican restaurant. We will never go back to try it. His behavior was over the top!

This place is legit! Sure, they don’t have the stereotypical rice or burritos, but they have Mexican cuisine that’s actually authentic and tastes better than that other stuff anyway: ceviches, pescado, and more! This is the best Mexican food I’ve ever had, and I’ve had Mexican food made by Mexicans across Mexico, California, and Texas (sorry folks, but you’ve gotta step up your game to keep up with this place!). If you live in Hawai‘i and want good Mexican style seafood, this is your place!

We were so excited to try this restaurant. The food was good. But the service was terrible and frankly extremely rude. A big, tall intimidating man with a goatee made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. No Aloha, no smiles. It almost felt like he wants this restaurant to fail, he definitely hates his job in my opinion. Very disappointed because I liked the food but I will not be coming back.

Relaxed atmosphere. Food reminds me of being on the Yucatán Peninsula. The Colorado chili is authentic. Best calamari frito, coldest draft beer, wonderful tortillas.

The outdoor eating area is really pretty and great for a date night. The food is very authentic and well done. My only reservation is the number of tortillas they give you are way too few and never enough for what they serve so you’re always forced to buy additional tortillas. My husband got a huge bowl of something to go in tortillas and he only got two. I’m just so used to places that give out a solid four, five, or even six so it seems a little stingy for what you pay for an entree there. Tortillas aside, it’s great, but because of the tortilla situation it’s not our go-to place.
