I actually liked the udon here better than Marugame, mainly because of better udon texture. The Currey udon was fairly good, although it doesn't stand out as anything too special.Came here for lunch special and it was pretty solid deal. Locals here get additional discount which is nice if you come over with someone who's local.

Came here with friends during their happy hour window. Ordered several udon bowls with sushi rolls. Beware that the udon bowls are huge. Also whether you order a regular or large, there is no price difference. Udon was bouncy and cooked well. Sushi rolls were not great. Bland and rice was a bit undercooked.

TsuruTonTan gets a solid 5 stars from me, mainly because you get a ton of food for your buck, and their happy hour is a real deal, shaving a few dollars off each dish before 4:30pm even hits. Service was super quick, which was a nice touch since it wasn’t too packed. We tried the cucumber salad, shishito peppers, and the cold spicy beef udon — all pretty solid choices. Overall, TsuruTonTan is the go-to for generous portions, great deals, and tasty eats. Definitely a spot worth checking out.

Had the mentaiko and uni udon as main entrees, which were very good. Perfectly cooked chewy texture. The mentaiko was well seasoned and full of flavor. The uni was good, but you get very little uni so a little disappointing on the portions. As fast as the other side apps, I don't recommend them at all. Clams were in a overbearing butter water broth the "seared" salmon was basically steamed and didn't have that char flavor. I'd just stick to the udon.

Liked the cucumber salad and fried oysters. I would skip the duck. The wagyu didn't taste as good this time around.

After snorkeling all morning we came with an appetite and a question of whether Udon or Sushi would hit the spot better. Tsurutotan made it easy; both. The lunch special offered a generous combination of both. All the dishes we ordered were delicious. I am partial.to Uni, so ordered the Uni Cream and Uni Sashimi. Lived the desserts too. The quality was excellent as was the service. Manager Jay and and our waiter Lisang were warm, welcoming and added so much to the experience. Great central location.Parking: Easily accessible parking

I love their food, and I have been there for 10 years.. but they never cleaned the restaurant. Dust on the wall with blue clothes things, spider web around the lights, and entrance lights above the front host desk.Staffs are chatting all the time. Please clean the restaurant!!!

Average quality of food and service.Nothing special about their signature Udon.Unagi Don and Pork Katsu were a bit salty.

My udon today was exceptional. My son didn't have school today and wanted to try the curry since he wasn't able to come earlier this week. He ordered the Wagyu Curry Udon and it was polished clean. He said the Wagyu was tender and went well with the curry. I had the cold Onten Toriten Udon today which I especially liked. The thin udon noodles went well with the cold broth. The noodles were super chewy...just the way I like it. The broth was simple and went well with the fried chicken.Service was excellent. Will definitely come back for more...

It's an evolution of udon such as mentaiko udon and cream udon. Lunch on weekdays is cheap, so I use it often. If you go on the weekend, there is a happy hour setting, but most menu items are around $20. It's quite expensive. You can choose between thin or thick udon noodles. The udon itself is chewy and good, but the tempura and other ingredients are of sub-par quality. In Japan, you can eat better quality tempura for less than half the price.

Restaurant and waiters are nice. But food is too meh, although udon is thick, but it doesn’t have the Udon springiness, the beef soup is bland and tastes beefy. The port Katsu was raw and we sent back to the kitchen. Something wrong with the kitchen management and

I really enjoyed my udon. Got the wagyu option. Singular issue was it wasn’t hot enough. However, my group as a whole wasn’t really a fan of their options. They got the katsu, the main special tsuro something, the chicken, and the cream. Can’t complain about the portion (which is massive), but group wasn’t fan of the food. Service was great though and comped one of the dishes someone really didn’t like.

Never compare it to the Tsuru Dontan you eat in Japan. It is shockingly delicious. The fries taste like they were pre-fried and then heated on the stove. The chicken in the udon noodles had an unpleasant smell, so I immediately changed to another menu and got a new one, but even that tasted worse than the raw udon bag... This is a shocking restaurant. justPlease don’t go. I hope Tsuru Dongtan closes its Hawaiian branch…
