I had the Ube cheesecake! It was so good! It even had a graham cracker crust! I would definitely get it again!

If you're in Oahu and haven't discovered UBAE yet, you're seriously missing out on one of the island's sweetest hidden gems. Tucked away in the bustling City Square Shopping Center at 1284 Kalani St., this family-run bakery (shoutout to founders Adrienne-Joy and Jeremy Jataas for starting this ube revolution back in 2017!) is a must-visit for anyone with a sweet tooth—especially if you love that vibrant, creamy purple yam magic from Filipino cuisine.

I swung by on a sunny Saturday afternoon, and the line was out the door (totally worth the wait!). The shop's cozy vibe hits you right away: warm lighting, the irresistible aroma of fresh-baked goods wafting through the air, and friendly staff who greet you like old friends. Pro tip: Go for the classic Ube Cheesecake—it's their signature, and for good reason. Silky smooth, not too sweet, with that perfect balance of rich ube flavor and a buttery graham crust that melts in your mouth. I grabbed a slice to go, and it was devoured in minutes during a picnic at nearby Kapiolani Park. Divine!

But don't stop there—their Ube Crinkle Cookies are next-level chewy perfection with a crisp exterior, and those mini Ube Cheesecake Tarts? Ideal for sharing (or not). Everything's made fresh daily, using high-quality ingredients that scream aloha spirit. Prices are fair for the quality—nothing over-the-top for Hawaii—and they even have party platters if you're hosting.

UBAE isn't just a bakery; it's a little slice of cultural joy that brings people together over dessert. Whether you're a local craving a ube fix or a visitor hunting unique souvenirs (their treats travel well!), this spot delivers every time. 10/10, would (and will) return ASAP. Mahalo, UBAE—keep spreading that purple love! 💜

No place to sit and eat the soft serve in a cup before it melts. Soft serve had the taste of frost bite.

The pandan and ube swirl is the perfect flavor combo — rich, creamy, and just the right amount of sweet. Their ube tarts are heavenly little bites I can never get enough of. Always my go-to for a sweet fix!

Didn't know I'd love potato cheesecake so much...ubae is awesome in all it's forms and this place definitely has earned every award they've received. The ice cream, the cheesecake, and the tarts were awesome

Wonderful experience all around here! Joy is a “literal joy” to talk to and took great care of me when I stopped in for the first time! I tried a few things… my favorite was the Ube cheesecake! It was very delicious and well balanced salt/ sweet ratios with great Ube flavor! Even the soft serve is rich, creamy and vegan, but don’t worry you can’t even taste the vegan! Sooo good! Highly recommend especially if you’re not accustomed to the Ube flavor! The stop is worth it!

This place is amazing. And the sweets are so so good. I love it.

The soft serve is ube and/or pandan flavor. I got the twist of both flavors which was big enough to share, in my opinion. It was very good, but once I started eating it, I couldn't really tell the flavors apart. They had a couple other desserts available like cookies and little custard pies.

I wouldn’t necessarily recommend visiting this location because it’s not much different than what you can find in 7-Eleven and other stores. But 5 stars for everything they make!

When I first ordered the ubae crinkle cookies a couple years ago they were delicious. I recently ordered 10 bags for my family. We all agreed the taste wasn’t as good and seemed processed manufactured. Even the packaging was cheap.

The ube crinkle cookies were absolutely delicious! Perfect flavor and texture. Didn’t have enough room in my stomach that day and wasn’t able to come back again but wish I could’ve tried other food there too!

Rich and flavorful sweets that hit the spot!

Very tasty Ube Ice cream, but not very sweet. Cheesecake were ok, I had tried others and they were better but there was nothing wrong with this one, just wasn't a fan of it. There are no seats inside so it's grab-and-go.

Irresponsible restaurant. We bought their gift cards at Honolulu Costco, but only got to know they were closed until Jan 13th the other day in front of their door. They did not even modify their open hours on Google Maps. Terrible store.
