Went with relatives from Las Vegas who were visiting. The staff are very attentive and provided excellent service. Our server explained the menu, made recommendations, and made sure we were happy with our meal. We ordered the combination meat platter, tripe, tongue, choregi salad, assorted Kim Chee, and dessert. Everything was delicious and we were very satisfied with our dinner. I plan to be back soon to try the other menu items. I highly recommend Yakiniku Tawashi.

Went dinner on Valentine's Day. Service was speedy and friendly and food was tasty. Bright and clean dining room. Ordered everything on the happy hour menu. Waitress, waiter, manager, owner working together to provide excellent service. Convenient location and parking. We enjoyed very much. Mahalo Ask why "Tawashi"

Food was amazing, although not a lot of variety on menu! Service was great too, all the guys were very sweet. Came here for my friends birthday and we were able to collaborate with the service team to surprise my friend with a cake!

This restaurant was opened by the manager of a famous Yakiniku restaurant that has been popular for many years in Yotsuya, Tokyo's Yakiniku hot spot. Many celebrities frequented this restaurant due to its delicious food and good atmosphere. We have eaten at the restaurant many times in Tokyo, and it is one of our favorite restaurants as it is very delicious. The manager loved Hawaii and visited Oahu every year to surf. He has finally opened his dream yakiniku restaurant in Hawaii.I heard that it has just pre-opened recently, but please continue to love it for a long time.

We had an amazing first-time experience at the Yakiniku restaurant. The boneless short rib was absolutely delicious, and the service was exceptional. Our server, a guys w/glasses , was incredibly friendly and provided outstanding service. While the wagyu was okay, I must say that the kalbi stole the show—it's the best! I highly recommend this place.

Service was fine...a little over enthusiastic but the waiters are young. Quality of meat is great and flavor is tasty. Kim chi and salad all really tasty. Flavor wise everything is great but portion and price need help. I don't mind paying for quality ingredients and tasty flavorful food but mid meal we decided we need to go for second dinner...ordering more food wouldn't be worth the price. Quantity and value just don't match. We left hungry and unsatisfied...in my opinion.

Just writing so people are aware but they don’t take walk-ins and since they don’t have a website and don’t mention anywhere on their Instagram that you need a reservation to eat there… now you know ??‍♀️

Yakiniku Tawashi is one of the best yakiniku places in Hawaii. The level of meat quality is just excellent and the seasoning of each yakiniku is marbled to perfection. The menu is very simple and everything on the menu is absolutely delicious in every way.The most of the meat kalbi and skirt steak can be ordered tare version (house made umami sauce) or salted version (simple). Both versions are absolutely beautiful and I love the tare version with the white rice they have to offer. The meat is thin to keep it perfect bite with right amount of juice in each meat. One of my favorite is also the Horumon, which is large beef intestine. Its absolutely beautiful with right amount of fat and umami taste. I like both the miso and the salt version. I really enjoy every time I dine, so I always order Horumon at the end to finish my meal. The one of the best is the cold noodle soup which has very elegant and subtle taste. I love the ginger and natural umami flavor of the cold noodle soup. I always try to order this to finish my meal with the Horumon or Kalbi Ribs. This is one of my new favorite places to dine in Hawaii and its absolute blessing to have such a beautifully executed Yakiniku place in Oahu. I would recommend this restaurant for anyone who is looking to have the best Yakiniku experiences.

This was my best Japanese Yakiniku experience yet in Hawaii! The quality of the meat is top notch. Excellent dining experience. Enjoy BYOB while they have it. The price is equal to the quality. Totally guilt free after eating all the meat. :)

Located in the former Shilawon. Free parking is very nice. Currently BYOB as they wait for their liq license. Beef quality is good and their tare is tasty in comparison to the all you can eat places like Gen or Camellia. Their margins are quite high. Expect to pay about $100 per head to get about 3/4 full for prime grade beef. Equivalent full for me as that jof eating a extra value meal at McDonald's. Meat cuts are on the thinner side. Lemon for your gyutan needs to be ordered so you will get charged extra for it. Ambiance is similar to that of Camellia. Staff are attentive and friendly but food took a little while to come out considering prep is essentially cutting and plating raw meat. I want to give this place a few months to get into a groove and return to see if anything changes as again, the quality is there.
