I forgot how good this old school Japanese restaurant was. Tempura was perfect!

Great sushi spot on Dillingham. Fresh, authentic, and very reasonably priced for the quality.
Chef Kaweno makes an excellent omakase — premium cuts and beautifully prepared. You can taste the freshness.
Lots of locals dine here, portions are generous, and the value is outstanding. Highly recommend.

The portion sizes are very small for the price. To make matters worse, the clam soup had a very strong, fishy smell. I was quite disappointed with the overall quality.

Small restaurant in older part of Honolulu near airport with great food, servings local cliental. Sides like rice, soup, Japanese are refilled with no additional charge. A tray with individual dishes are used rather than a bento box.

We were visiting Honolulu from the mainland US and found this local gem. It was a 15min drive from Waikiki but definitely worthy. Most people were locals not tourists. I would definitely visit next trip to Honolulu. Great sushi

My family and I love Yohei Sushi Restaurant! It is our go-to restaurant for authentic Japanese food and excellent quality sushi and sashimi. We always come back and celebrate family milestones here.
No wait time upon entering even when showing up 10 minutes earlier than reservation time. Service was very friendly and waters were filled without asking. Food was delicious, especially the miso butterfish and unagi. Tempura dipping and zaru soba sauces were perfectly balanced. Checking in was perfect without being intrusive. Thanked on the way out by the waitresses and the sushi chef. Definitely will be on the rotation for Japanese food!
Very friendly staff with great service. A smaller place but with a nice atmosphere. Great tasting food! Will definitely go back.

Katie from North Shore writing to give my thanks and appreciation for always taking care of me. Found Yohei with my mother a decade ago. In between her visits from Florida I come often solo and with friends for celebration. Fabulous quality, affordable and the best chef and wait staff around. All my love and aloha. See ya soon!

My wife enjoyed the Salmon Special Teishoku very much and the service was great as always.
Succulent, perfectly seasoned butterfish. My companions loved the freshness of the sushi and sashimi. Best of al. was the kind attentiveness of the servers!
