I have never considered myself crazy about mochi but still wanted to see what the hype was about for this particular shop. So glad we tried the fruit mochis and dango! They were deliciously soft and chewy. Dango was so good that my family said I should have bought a whole pound. Next time for sure! Economy, Covid, economy, dang blasted work on Dillingham! I remember when chi chi dango was $6/lb for several years. I bought the variety pack in October 2023 for my brother's gf. It was $12. Today, March 21, 2024, 5 months later, it cost $16. That's a big jump! Oh well, it's my treat yourself week. The taste is still good. I just wish prices would not go up so quickly. Times are changing, and some for the better, others not so much. At least the taste of Nisshodo mochi will remain.

Old school mochi store, making fresh mochi every day. Definitely one of the gems on the island and State. You can build your own mochi box or buy a pre-made assortment of most of their mochi selections. They also have pre-wrapped chi chi dango boxes. One is just plain and the other is assorted fruit flavors.
