“We ordered 5 specialty rolls for takeout and really enjoyed them all. The ingredients tasted super fresh, service was quick and friendly. We’re really looking forward to going back to try more rolls. It’s a huge plus that they’re open all day as most other sushi spots in the area close between lunch and dinner service- it was great being able to pick up at 5pm. Thanks Taka!!“
“Couldn't love this place more. Cute little spot with very good service and a menu with lots of options. I had the Shiso Clams served with toast points $22 and my honey had the teriyaki ribeye $40 and added a lobster tail for $12..... both were delicious and we would order again. This is a reasonably priced restaurant in a sea of expensive Hawaiian restaurants..... check it out!“
“We originally Googled to find this place, and we thought it was an oceanfront restaurant... although it's not Oceanfront it is a pleasant atmosphere and the food is actually surprisingly good for a good value. Probably the best tofu I've ever “
“Arrived late in Kona and was looking for a breakfast spot the next morning. What a great find. Super friendly staff and whole family loved the breakfast. We ordered a variety of dishes ranging from standard eggs and bacon to japanese inspired breakfast with fried fish, rice bowls and pickled cabbage. Really interesting is it's 4th gen family owned with original owner arriving over 100 years ago. Glad we came on a whim.“
“We joined friends for dinner here last night. We all really enjoyed the eggplant appetizer. I had the fresh catch with the lemon caper sauce. The mahi was prepared just right. They know how to do fish! There were too many good choices for dessert. We ended up splitting the mango cobbler with lilikoi sauce. It was excellent. The service was great! Our server was very patient with us-accomodating us with a table change (it was chilly last night) and gave one of our party extra veggies and re-running the bill for him when there was a small upcharge for using a charge card. There was some nice music which wasn't too loud which we appreciated. We will definately be back-so nice that Kona is getting some good restaurants that don't charge an arm and a leg. The was that the lilikoi martini which was gorgeous to look at could have used a little more kick and be a little less sweet.“
“Delicious and authentic local fare made by a lovely local family….counter service in a food court is fast and perfect for to go orders. Best Banana bread and kalua pork we had all week ? I got the laulau and kalua pork mixed plate with poi, lomi-lomi and haupia and it was FANTASTIC….my son loved the poke and made us go BACK for 2 more pans of banana bread before we flew home ?“
