“seems to be a newer spot - very small space so expect to wait a little bit if you go during peak hours. absolutely delivered on our Thai craving - the Penang Curry was to DIE for. Just a couple servers, but the food is made fresh to order so expect some piping hot entrees. Would definitely recommend.“
“Sushi Cocoro and Udon Noodle is a small, intimate restaurant tucked away in an alley in Kailua Kona. We called on a whim hoping to grab dinner and were lucky enough to snag a table. The restaurant is quite tiny with limited seating, but the staff was incredibly accommodating. Based on a past recommendation, we brought our own wine and beer, only to find out upon arrival that was no longer allowed. But the owner graciously allowed us to enjoy our drinks with our meal anyway. That thoughtful hospitality really made our experience. With a compact menu, the options are simple but solid. We enjoyed fresh sushi rolls, udon noodles, and Japanese tapas plates. The food quality was good, though not the most creative sushi I've had. But the fish tasted fresh and the rolls were neatly constructed. The udon noodles in savory broth were excellent - perfect on a warm Hawaiian night. And we have to compliment the service, which was kind, prompt and attentive throughout our meal. While Sushi Cocoro may not offer the most elaborate sushi or expansive menu, it's a homey spot for tasty Japanese fare in Kona. The intimate setting and hospitable service make for a pleasant, enjoyable dinner. Just don't bring your own drinks - and be prepared for cozy quarters! A tasty local find.“
“Had a misunderstanding with the young man taking the order but he and the older gentleman remedied the situation very well. Food was excellent. The grilled shrimp is fantastic. Overall... great find!Parking: Wide open mini strip mall type location with outdoor seating under roof. No real view to speak of but nice nevertheless.“
“I was pleasantly surprised by this place! I swung by for a quick lunch while the fam was golfing. The lady who took my order didn't speak English well and brought me ramen noodles instead of udon noodles with my spicy shrimp, but I didn't mind! The flavorful broth, packed with cabbage and broccoli, came out steaming hot in less than five minutes. I tried my best but couldn't finish it all. The place itself is very small with a handful of tables and a narrow bar for singles to eat. At 2pm, there were at least six other people there eating. They seem to do a lot of pickup orders, too.“
“We ended up here after another restaurant where we had reservations never acknowledged us. We were very glad we did! Wifey has steak Pho and I had the beef ribs and fried rice. All of it was loaded with flavor and the portions were more than ample! Neither of us could finish our meal and we will likely be back!Parking: They validate the parking.“
