“Great atmosphere, inside outside style dining. The menus are very curated and staff were so kind and helpful with recommendations. We had the Italian flatbread and various tacos. Highly recommend the fried rice as well. Open late, a good stop for night life.“

“Thirty years after our honeymoon at Kona Village, we returned and enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Kahuwai Cookhouse. We had the pleasure of meeting Chef Junior Ulep, who was incredibly friendly and welcoming.
We loved the Poke Nachos and the Fresh Catch of the Day — Mahi Mahi. When we told Chef Ulep that what we remembered most from Kona Village 30 years ago was the food, he smiled. This time, the food was just as delicious as we remembered.
Thank you, Chef Ulep, for your warm hospitality and for bringing back such wonderful memories for us!“

“I stopped eating here on my way to the mainland because the place used to feel so unwelcoming — the customer service was pretty rude.
But I decided to give it another try recently (mostly because I was starving), and wow, what a surprise! They got a new casher, super friendly, had a great smile, and made the whole place feel completely different. For a moment, I thought I’d walked into the wrong restaurant!
What a great change. With this kind of friendly service, I actually feel good spending my money here again.“

“We came over from the Four Seasons for dinner. The building is beautiful with high volume ceilings and incredible views, especially during sunset. The menu is small but food was well prepared. Don't miss the beef cheeks - something you don't often see on a menu. It was like a delicate slow braised short rib. Definitely make a reservation and stop in when in Kona.“
