The short ribs was really salty and the poke was okay. The guy at the poke counter wasn’t the friendliest and made the experience bleh. We felt really rushed even though there wasn’t a wait and service just wasn’t friendly. We usually love short ribs but couldn’t finish it.
This is a solid takeout spot with good poke. There are spots to sit and eat outside. Make sure you ask about their ingredients. I discovered peanuts in their Thai basil poke after I started eating it and sharing with my son who has a peanut allergy. We had to rush to get some allergy meds afterwards so be careful.
I might go so far as to say this is the best true takeout restaurant in Kailua. Pretty good selection of Hawaiian fair. Generous portions of ahi, and good selection of tasty grilled beef and chicken. The three skewer special was very filling and I felt a great value for money- I think your average couple could probably share this among themselves.
