The sushi and nigiri were incredible in quality, arguably one of the best we've ever had anywhere. It is in an unassuming location, but the restaurant is definitely worth going to if you're in the mood for sushi.
Food is amazing and server is great ! But…. Just gotta wait long time for your food when it’s crowded like 1 hour ….because short handed on chef
Miso soup little too salty
Salad dressing too sweet 😩, definitely suggesting to make new one to replace
Steak not worth it
Deluxe chirashi, expensive $60 but tasted great 👍
I would go like 5pm to be able to eat at 630pm
Sashimi salad had shrimp, tomato, and other items not included in menu description. Edamame was cold and did not include the garlic sauce. And miso soup was about 1/2 cup and super salty.
Delicious

This was an incredible place to eat. I was just blown away how fun the service was. They did a great job. There was a special on toro that night and so I was able to get some extra. I left absolutely stuffed.
This place has probably the best sushi I have tried so far. Food is absolutely amazing, everyone is very friendly, stuff welcome and approach you with warm smile on their face and prices surprisingly reasonable. We went there twice and both times extremely satisfied. 10 stars for this place.
Tokoname is hands down one of the best sushi restaurants I've ever been to. From the moment we walked in, the service was top-notch—attentive, friendly, and efficient without being overbearing.
The food? Incredible. Every dish was a masterpiece, with the freshest ingredients and perfect presentation. The sushi practically melted in my mouth, and the variety on the menu was impressive.
The atmosphere was equally fantastic—warm, inviting, and just the right balance between casual and refined. It’s a place where you can relax and truly enjoy the experience.
What really blew me away was the value. For the quality of food and service, the prices were surprisingly reasonable. Tokoname offers an experience that feels high-end without breaking the bank.
I can’t recommend this place enough—definitely a must-visit for sushi lovers!
I absolutely loved going here! The service was perfect and they were so kind and the food was so delicious. I definitely loved the experience and vibe.

Never order takeout from here unless you want to wait two + hours… ordered takeout tonight and it took forever to get the food. Only reason was “the kitchen is chaos right now”. Food is good however the the service takes awhile.

Found this place on Google maps while looking for a dinner spot. Was able to get a reservation for a time we wanted. The place was great. We at outside were able to look at Ko'olau during our dinner. All the food we ordered was great. My Chirashi deluxe finally came out after everyone else had finished their meals. Which was a bit disappointing. But the manager did comp our drinks.

Showed up around 5pm to get a table, not busy 10 tables wide open. The host doesn’t come for 10 minutes, then stares at his piece of paper awkwardly for 5 minutes and tells us they only have room outside (in the pouring rain). Don’t waste your time or your money. Plenty of better places in Kailua that value paying customers and are kind to people of all ethnicities

The waitress is always so nice; she thought it was so funny when my 11 year old daughter asked if she could work there. The food is incredible, and the environment is very family friendly. ??
Kid-friendliness: They have an excellent selection of Japanese style keiki options.

We’re finally giving up on this place when it comes to takeout. EVERY time we order, they’re 20-30 minutes behind. EVERY TIME!!! They’ve messed up our orders in the past. Their payment system has been down. You name it, it’s happened there. All that said. The sushi is amazing. We’re just never going back. Ugh.
