I was sold that they have fresh catch and according to cashier they use local beef which i hope they do. The fish taco was amazing, it was an Ahi fish when I was there. I've upgraded corn tortilla chips to waffle fries, and I've regretted it, because the fries were over fried. I am also fully aware that most places use brioche bun, but for burger that costs 24 dollars i am expecting a bun from local bakery or maybe sesame bun that maybe has some crunch and its not sponge...
As a tourist, this type of place is what I imagined for Hawaii. This was the perfect spot for lunch with the family and every fish selection we made (fish bowl, grilled fish sandwich, and fish and chips) was excellent. Wife and kids loved the upstairs lanai, openess, and a stray lizard for entertainment. Grounds were very cool. Staff was very nice.
Delicious fish tacos and seafood platter! Fresh ingredients, like the Mahi-Mahi fish, fresh mango salsa and aioli sauce. For sure coming back for a second time to Gills Lanai. My husband and I are hooked!
