“The former Pearl's Korean BBQ is now Won's.
MENU:
Mix of Korean & local Hawaiian entrees.
FOOD:
Chicken Katsu
While this is far from being a Korean dish, it's what I was craving. The two slabs of chicken were breaded and deep-fried to a golden brown, and laid out on 2 scoops of steamed white rice. You can choose 4 banchan sides, in which I got mac salad x2, bean sprouts, and potato mayo. Their katsu sauce is too sweet, which is why I always do takeout so I can use my Kagome-brand sauce from home lol.
Man Doo Kook Soo
This is a Korean version of ramen but was anything but. The rice noodles were a bit overcooked and didn't have any chewiness to it. I like them as a somen dish but not as a noodle soup. The broth was clear, very subtle in flavor, and tasted similar to egg drop soup. The bowl was topped with 4 good-sized pieces of soft mandoo with a tasty pork filling, egg washed shredded pork, and cooked white & green onions. Temperature was hot but not searing. Better than pho but it'd never dethrone a ramen in my world, lol.
SERVICE:
The workers were welcoming and friendly. I got my order in about 10 minutes.
OVERALL:
Bang for your buck! They'll do well here.“
“Do yourself a favor and skip cooking on Sunday to eat at the Lono Blue Kitchen in Wailuku. I ordered a salmon poke bowl, and it was fresh and delicious. My husband ordered tempura, and pronounced the shrimp delicious and the veggies fresh and tasty. Meals for takeout or dine at an outside table. Enjoy!“

“A Saigon Cafe is a hidden gem in Wailuku, offering authentic Vietnamese flavors with a lively and welcoming atmosphere. The pho is rich and flavorful, the clay pot dishes are a must-try, and the green papaya salad is perfectly balanced. The owner’s humor adds to the experience, making it more than just a meal. Parking can be tight, and the decor is a bit dated, but the quality of the food and service make up for it. A great spot for locals and visitors looking for a satisfying, homey Vietnamese meal.“

“Love eating here the food is always spot on, yummy & worth the money. I like how I can order my food & within 5-10 minutes it's finished & cooked & ready to eat. This is in the mini mall area kind of next to the Wailuku Post Office down the road from Maui's Famous Tasty Crust.“

“Not kidding when I say this is top-tier Thai food in the US (and I've had lots of Thai food in NYC, Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle, etc., as well as in Bangkok). I went here for dinner for two days straight and tried the pad thai, pad see eiw, lobster rice, and pad khee mao. ALL of these dishes are great. Hands down the best food I had during my week in Maui.“
