Food was very good. I was a little surprised at the menu, as it seemed like it was not as extensive as it could have been.
As always, the food and service was exceptional the staff displays genuine hospitality our favorite go to restaurant every time we are here
Food was average to good. Service fine but please do not bring the desert menu before Entrees served. If the desert takes awhile, please verbally let us know. Most high end restaurants will do this. We moved tables due to a very loud party next to us. Service was prompt in the beginning and then everything slowed down. We were given the desert menu and told some preparations took 20 minutes. No one came back to take the order so we did not have to wait so long. Prices to high for the experience and food
I've been dining here for years and each time it's slipped a notch. Good was good. Service was only fair. Our party had a late reservation and though the restaurant was not busy we had to wait for requests or to make a request.
Excellent service. Our waiter Richard was so friendly and had the menu down like a work of art. All staff were friendly. Cleaned the tables quickly between small plates and meals. The potstickers were the best I've had! I got the blackened Ahi for dinner and it was delicious. My husband got the burger and it was ok. Drinks were tasty.
Food was good but the menu was quite limited. “Land and Sea” was completely missing any “Sea” options so only one option for vegetarians. Cocktails were interesting but very watered down with lots of ice which is fine for some types but not for an Old Fashioned/Manhattan (what they call a “Classic”)
Fantastic restaurant and perhaps the favorite meal of our trip. The butter fish, prime rib, and ramen were all perfect. Atmosphere and staff were spectacular (especially considering we had two toddlers with us!).

Was there a week ago and had a great meal, actually exceeded our expectations. Daunte probaly the best server we have ever had. So knowledgeable and a great sense of humour. Thank-you, see you again soon, I hope.

Eating House is hard to beat for setting, service and unique delicious dishes. I feel the menu is a bit limited and prices are prohibitive. It's worth the sacrifice when on vacation. They aren't hurting for business. Butterfish hot pot is a must have
A friend recommended this restaurant, and I am so glad she did. The food was incredible, great service and nice to recognize our daughter's graduation. You should definitely go!

Eating House 1849 surpassed our expectations in every way. The service was impeccable (prompt/attentive yet relaxed) the food was amazing, and atmosphere comfortably modern. I would give my highest recommendation and plan to return in the future!
- Food: Incredibly delicious and cleverly made! The crab and corn appetizer was especially great! The starter and main course will also leave you incredibly full.
- Drinks: My cocktail was also delicious and very cleverly made.
- Ambiance: Very nicely and comfortably furnished. We were there in the evening when it was already dark. But if you come earlier you will definitely have a great view.
- Service: Very friendly waiter! Water was constantly replenished and we received up-to-date information about the food. Great. What was a bit unpleasant was that the waiters all seemed very rushed and we had to wait a bit for our already reserved table.

This was somewhat of an unexpected gem. We didn't know much about this place but saw the menu online and it looked good. We came away feeling very pleased. The edamame starter was tasty as was the tomato and mozzarella salad. My wife got the Miyosaki Butterfish and was very happy. I got the Honey Mustard Braised Shortribs and was also very pleased. To end the night my life got the Pineapple Upside Down Cake and I got the Chocolate Lava Cake. Both were amazing. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised by how good this restaurant is.
Excellent server great food. I tried the ramen as I had sampled nearly everything on the menu previously. It was a little bitter for my taste. All of the three other entrees were excellent! Short ribs, steak and fresh fish. Appetizer and drinks always excellent.
We have visited Eating House 1849 a number of times, and are never disappointed with anything about the restaurant. Food preparation, flavor, service, ambience, and value make it clearly one of the best restaurants on Kauai.
