Cannot recommend eating here. Partner and I both got the “Hawaiian plate” $25. Everything was cold except the lau lau pork, which was the best thing on the plate and it was just ok. Somehow dry Mac salad? Poke was inedible, tomato and smoked salmon salsa was a tragic salt bomb. Beer prices are not on the menu, and my partners can of beer, $12, was forgotten until we already had our plates. Disappointing tourist traps are part and parcel of any vacation, but hold onto those dollars and go somewhere (anywhere) else for dinner.

Good restaurant. Good service. Food was good. The burger, rice, with eggs on top was surprisingly a good combo. Burger might be a little over cooked but I didn’t mind it.

The flavors were great, but there was literally just one server for the entire restaurant... It's not an exaggeration.

I'll start with the service... Unfortunately, when a restaurant is woefully understaffed, the service is going to suffer, and Leong's was no exception. Our waiter was pleasant and helpful, but we waited quite a while for him to come by and take our order. And, as might be expected, we never got our calamari appetizer. However, the entrees came out pretty quickly, so I told him to cancel the calamari.

As for the entrees, I had a combo of chicken stir fry and kalbi beef, served with rice. This was excellent, even if the calbi beef was cold on arrival. My wife had just the chicken stir fry and rice and enjoyed it very much. We ordered the brownie ala mode for desert, and unfortunately, the ice cream was melted, and the entire thing became a soup in 30 seconds.

Overall, the food was tasty, but with only one server for the entire restaurant, execution issues, like cold entrees, melted deserts, and forgotten appetizers, are bound to happen. It's a shame, really, because the food is really good.... Well, it certainly would have been if served at the correct temperatures. (still give 4 stars, but would have been 5, if...)

Awesome gluten free options. The beef ribs melted in my mouth.

Was looking forward to eating their beef stew based on another poster’s picture but it looked like the stew had been simmering since Monday, we were there on Thursday. Found a 1/4 of a carrot that was whole and some meat chunks but potatoes had all fallen apart. The simmer time had also simmered all the flavor out of it. First red flag was the button to select the beef stew was not an option on the waitress’s tablet. So if it’s not on the tablet, you may want to reconsider. I did like the kimchee cucumbers…was the best part of my meal. Another person in our party had the poke which was “fine” but onions were chewy and too big. Waitress was friendly and attentive but I think she needed a little more help because it seemed like she was also trying to clean the tables and be the hostess at the same time. Sucks to be understaffed.

The chicken stirfry was cold! The chicken, the veges and the rice. Not joking or exaggerating.

How can food be cooked fresh and end up being served cold? Makes me think the food is pre-cooked, put in the fridge or freezer then zapped. But clearly not well enough. Or the meals are cooked then left sitting at room temperature for ages.

The flavour is good but it is just a shame it doesn’t get served piping hot. When we mentioned this to the waitress she was nice and offered to make a new one. This is the only reason why I have given this restaurant an extra star.

The 2nd stirfry they did up also came out quickly but it was lukewarm only. An improvement from being fully cold. But…Some parts of the rice in this batch felt cold and other parts lukewarm. The beef stew was also served barely lukewarm.

This is a food safety issue and a risk that people will get food poisoning!

Would not recommend.

The patio is very nice and the service was pretty good. I thought my beef stew was fine, but I did notice some of the meat was somewhat fatty. The cucumber kimchi was tasty. I noticed the rice seemed to have some less cooked/extra chewy grains in it. Overall, a decent meal but not as good as most of the meals I've had here so far. My husband's beef stir fry was fine; the flavor was good but the beef wasn't particularly tender.

Real Hawaiian food at a great price. The servings were generous. We had the laulau and the kalua pork. Both were good with typical local side dishes: poke, mac salad, purple sweet potato and lomi lomi salmon. The cocktails were very good too and unique. Great service with friendly staff.

We arrived around 7pm, the restaurant was half seated. The food was good, but here are a couple of things to be aware of.

1. Extremely slow service. We waited literally 45 minutes for our food and when they arrived, we didn’t have any utensils. It took another 5 minutes for utensils to arrive?!
2. You’d think the food is freshly made and hot but out of the 6+ things we ordered (kalbi, spicy chicken, chicken long rice, Hawaiian pork plate, and beef stew, along with other sides like rice and fries), most of them were cold, not even warm, with the exception of kalbi. So what happened? Premade food but took forever to deliver? Or food was made but not enough staff to deliver? Either way food shouldn’t be cold when you serve them.
3. Lack of services. I blame this one on managements. There were only 3-4 people working; they simply don’t have enough staff to deliver quality services. It wasn’t just my table, several other tables experienced the same thing such as no utensils, extremely long wait, and no water refills.

Overall I’d recommend coming maybe when it’s not during meal time as the food was pretty tasty (prob taste better when not cold). The views were good and the breeze was comfy. Just don’t torture yourself and your family during busy hours, it’ll ruin the vacation vibe for sure.

Update: The owner emailed me and said it is entirely the server’s fault and they are firing him. What?! I don’t want to get anyone fired. He was a nice person. If an item is market GF on a menu, you shouldn’t have to request it be GF. It should be GF. Train him and train the kitchen! I told them not to fire him. They are making the situation worse and making me feel bad for an honest review.

We made reservations, but when we got there the six of us were seated back by the kitchen at a fold out table covered in plastic. There was enough room to put us at a nicer table. It was not busy. Not a great start, but we joked we were put at the kids table and ordered our drinks hoping to relax and have a good meal. The drinks took at least 15 minutes to come out. We ordered 2 pina coladas and the rest sodas... We repeatedly told the server we were gluten free (except one in our party) when ordering and ordered only things marked GF on the menu, but despite this, they brought us caesar salads with tiny croutons we almost ate despite the salad being marked as GF on their menu. We again asked the server if the salads were indeed GF and they rushed them back to the kitchen and brought us new ones. The “seared ahi” added to the chopped romaine and dressing was fully cooked leftover poke cubes, not “seared ahi” and there wasn’t much of the tiny fully cooked cubes. It was honestly one of the worst salads I’ve ever had for $23. My daughter’s friend ordered a side of fries and it was half a child’s handful on a tiny plate. It was like the kitchen couldn’t be bothered to cook some more fries and gave her the leftovers. I wish I was kidding. Then I started sneezing repeatedly (into my elbow). The server asked worriedly if I was alright, like he knew they’d messed up. I told my husband I was having an allergic reaction. Now I’m sure my teen children (one of which is celiac) were glutened along with myself, as I sit here at 2:14 am with a raging allergy headache writing this review.
