Plantation Gardens Restaurant & Bar

Great ambiance in a quiet terrace on the plantation. Nice cocktails with the house rum. Food was excellent, particularly the bone-in pork and the Oscar-style fish.

In 17 years this is my kauai home.

I last went to this restaurant in 2015. The food and service were amazing. In an attempt to return to the restaurant in December 2021, I called, because I had seen something indicating that the restaurant was temporarily closed, and hopeful that it would be reopening during my time on Kauai. When I contacted the hotel, I was told that the restaurant would be reopening sometime in 2022 under a new name and new management.

Unfortunately this restaurant is currently closed. The restaurant has been good in the past with a wonderful setting and orchid garden. We look forward to it's reopening with a new chef

This restaurant has become one of our favorites on Kauai. We have never been disappointed with a meal, service or atmosphere. Great plantation setting on a beautiful island.

When the waiter brought out drinks he dropped a full heineken bottle on my son's head while he was in the high chair. This place always changes. It was a micro brewery at one point. I think it's a BBQ place now lol

Ate here with wife and 2 daughters, place has nice atmosphere and is clean. We all enjoyed our meals, rib-eye was great and large or a 12oz, ribs were good, seafood linguine and fresh fish Lau lau. My fav steak beat Ruth Chris’ hands down. 20 minutes after we left my 20yo daughter realized she left her expensive purse behind! She ran back and they had put it behind bar for her, thanks!!! Honesty and integrity are fantastic virtues! This was our 2nd time here, once less year ago, very pleased.

Everything around the Poipu resorts is a touch of two more expensive, however Plantation Gardens delivers what it charges for. Our best meal throughout our 2 week long honeymoon. This place is a treat, so tasty, wonderful ambiance, and strong drinks. My wife had the pork chops which were absolutely amazing. I had the curry, which was delicious. Also a very cute cat that was wondering about the property. Just an amazing experience!

Weird location as part of resort/condo area. No real beach views but of their garden. Parking is also not intuitive. Food was okay, but not outstanding Nothing blew out socks off. Cocktails were delicious. Baked Hawaiian dessert was good. One of the least favorite places we ate at.

This was a very nice restaurant with a good staff. The garden was too artificial for my taste but we had a pleasant evening. Food was good.

This lovely restaurant is in a restored mansion overlooking a lush garden of ponds and orchids, designed and planted 100 years ago. The restaurant is open to the air, and has great atmosphere. Because we had to leave for the airport, there was only time for happy hour, which turned out to be a great deal with very good $5 house wine and half-price appetizers. We LOVED the ribs. Caesar salad was great, but ask them to hold the chicken.

With Kauai as our second home we have eating at PG for years. The food and service have been erratic but in recent years much better. We brought another couple with us tonight. We ordered the curry seafood stew. The “fresh” seafood was days old, tough, dry and certainly not in the curry very long as it was awful. When our meals were brought out our server came by and asked how things were. We said great but we hadn’t had a bite yet. My wife put her fork down after one bite. I took a few more but our entrees were still sitting in font of us when completed and there wasn’t a suggestion to replace our orders or reduce the bill. Very disappointing. PG is a nice environment but they should serve entrees that don’t mimic food found in a soup line. Poor food this go around and very disappointing response. Try other options in area that provide a better product.
