If I could rate 3.5 I would. The food was very good. Creative and very fresh. However, even for the area it is overpriced for the portion size. 2 scallops and 2 shrimp with some pasta for $60 is kind of insane. The goat cheese appetizer is really yummy. But …the lighting in the main restaurant area is Las Vegas BRIGHT. Almost surreal bright. It also took a looonnnnnggggg time for the food to come out and there were only two of us. Now if the atmosphere were more soothing it maybe wouldn’t have seemed as long? Server was okay. Bar area looked very nice and there’s an area near the windows with more normal lighting. So if you go there choose one of those two areas to sit. The lighting is an easy fix and would make a big difference in my opinion.

We went for dinner and had a lovely experience. Our server was Greg, he is funny and knowledgeable and friendly. Our table had a view of the ocean, so we could see the changing colors of the evening sky. We ordered Brussels sprouts for the appetizer, and they were excellent, super delicious. My husband got filet mignon and I got butterfish for the main course, both were amazing, but after that we had no room for dessert.
Highly recommend this restaurant for the ambiance and food and service quality.

We noticed all the details put into making our dining experience excellent. Our food was very good, but the atmosphere, location, beauty of this establishment is top notch. The service was over the top as well. I wish I could remember the names but from the hostess seating us in an excellent spot to the server who paid attention to every detail, to the chef both serving us our appetizer and coming out to check on our entre. All very impressive! More than 5 stars!

We had a very nice meal here and I would otherwise rate it highly. However, we were celebrating a special occasion, which was clearly marked on the reservation. The hostess who greeted us made note of it, so it was correctly listed on the reservation, but that was it. The waiter, who was otherwise very good, clearly did not get the memo that it was a special occasion. Nothing notable or special, not even acknowledging it.

So do not come here for a special occasion. You will be underwhelmed.

One other negative is that they served some sort of popcorn and pretzel mix instead of a bread basket when seated. That gives a real sports bar feel instead of a fine dining establishment. Bad vibes on that one. Whoever came up with that idea, it doesn't work for fine dining. Pic attached.

That said, the view is awesome if you arrive early (5p) to get one of the ocean view tables and the mains and dessert were very good.

First ..I would like to say.. this was a hard place to locate with google. There were no signs to assist us in locating in the dark. We went for a special 40th anniversary celebration, the atmosphere was nice once in the restaurant. Without getting into full details of our food, want to express the disappoint that a request to have our expensive steaks the level of doneness was completely missed.. I understand that some people like rare, yet there are others that do not like raw meat.

What a fabulous restaurant! It was our favorite restaurant of our 12-day. stay in Kauai. We asked if they had a table with a great view....and boy, did we get one! Spectacular! Our waiter, I can't remember his name 😔, gave us outstanding service. I don't have the space to tell you all the good things about RumFire!

A Perfect Five-Star Experience at RumFire!

Our recent dinner at RumFire Poipu Beach was, without a doubt, a five-star experience from beginning to end. If you're looking for a place that perfectly combines breathtaking ambiance, exceptional service, and absolutely delicious food, this is it.

We were seated with a stunning, unobstructed view of the ocean just as the sun began to set. The vibrant colors of the sky, framed by palm trees, were absolutely magical. The restaurant's modern, chic decor and the namesake fire pits flickering outside created an atmosphere that was both sophisticated and incredibly romantic. It is the perfect setting for a memorable evening in Poipu.

The service was impeccable. Our server was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, making excellent recommendations and ensuring our glasses were never empty. Every staff member we encountered was warm and welcoming, which truly elevated our dining experience.

Every single dish we ordered was a home run. We started with the Goat Cheese Fondue, which was creamy, tangy, and utterly addictive, served with warm, soft bread for dipping. For our main, the Grilled Tofu was cooked to perfection, with a wonderful texture and a savory flavor that paired beautifully with the fresh sides of Mashed Potatoes and Grilled Asparagus. The potatoes were rich and creamy, and the asparagus had the perfect crispness.
The drinks were just as impressive. The Virgin Mango Mojito was a refreshing tropical delight, while the Lychee Martini was expertly crafted, elegant, and delicious.
Overall, our dinner at RumFire was an unforgettable experience. It's the ideal spot for a special occasion or simply to treat yourself to one of the best dining experiences on the island. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

I think it's good but not great. The food is almost really good, but doesn't quite match what you would expect for the prices (yes, even on an island). It was a one and done for me. The service is great though and the views are pretty awesome if you are eating during sunset.

Beautiful ocean view. very spacious place and well spaced tables. Impeccable Service. Very high Quality of food. The meat is really good and cooked well (if you don't like sauces on meat ask for it and they won't put them). price adequate to the Quality of food (lower than many experienced Italian meat boasters). Very nice atmosphere both inside and outside the restaurant

Well... This is one of the best meals I've ever had! Staff was incredibly friendly, food is to die for, and the views are next level. Yes it is pricey but you're in Hawaii, live a little and try this once in a lifetime meal!

Cafeteria food with fancy plating.

Atmosphere and service were great. This low rating comes from the food quality for the price. The beef short rib was indistinguishable from my mom’s pot roast, and she’s not a great cook. The lamb was aggressively undercooked. Honestly I wouldn’t even be writing this review if the quality of the food was anywhere near where it needed to be for the price point, but it feel so far short. Get a new chef who knows how to braise a short rib correctly.

Bottom line: save your money and go to Lavas, which has better food, drinks, and atmosphere for way less money.
