SKIMPPY Shrimp Place. We have always eaten here when we come to Kauai. SIMPPY is not for the food. It's for the bill. The menu that is posted outside. You order, than sit outside at the tables they provide. We ordered to most popular - Garlic Shrimp - $16.95 and a side of french fries - $4.95 and can of coke - $1.95. We had to ask for a printed receipt. After we had eaten...yes, yummy food, I looked at the receipt to see why it didn't seem like we got the price that was posted on the menu. I noticed that we had paid an extra $2.00 for shrimp they peeled for you and $.50 per item (our food was in two boxes) =$1.00 for take out fee. I went up to the lady who took our order, and told her that we had been overcharged and that we had eaten at the food establishment. She was fisty and told me that it was a box fee. I told her it said "To Go" fee. She tried to tell me it's like going to a store and they charge you a fee for a bag. I had not been asked. I was mad! I had not asked for the shrimp to be peeled, not had I asked if I wanted "To Go" - ie..bag fee.
SO be aware - SKIMPPY should no be operating this way. False advertising and very dishonest! If I go back...I will bring my own plate from the hotel we are staying at.

Extremely disappointed with the food and no just that the lady in the front counter has toilet seat actitud.
Go somewhere else to eat there’s several better restaurants in the surrounding area with better food and better CUSTOMER

This place manages to give a beach shack vibe in an open-air mall. It's not fancy but the shrimps are great! Bear in mind that if you don't want spicy, don't risk anything with the ?️ graphic; don't chance it, go for the dish with the coconut milk scampi.

Wheelchair accessibility: There is ample blue tag parking and the sidewalks are cut.

We ate at Savage Shrimp once in September 2024 and were very disappointed. Be aware that this is a walk-up window, not really a restaurant. There are a couple of outdoor tables between the window and the garbage cans and they were dirty when we were there. The food wasn’t very good and the shrimp was unpeeled – you had to pay extra for peeled shrimp. We did not go back. You'll find much better food elsewhere in Poipu and Koloa for the same price.

This place was recommended for the food, but we were disappointed. Coconut shrimp was tough and stale, very little food but high prices. Much better places near by.

Ordered fish and chips to go.
Extremely disappointed that the fish were actually fish sticks (like from a frozen grocery store) and not the picture used in the advertisement. Such an extreme misrepresentation of what was actually served and what was represented. Needless to say, I was unable to eat them- just absolutely dry and tasteless. Neither could my spouse- we tossed them. Very deceptive advertising.
Disappointed tourists!!!

Probably the worst food we’ve ever had. Fish was dried out from being overcooked. Kalua pork was NOT kalua pork. It had some kind of sweet sauce on it. Terrible meal. Stay away

Came here not expecting much and it blew my mind. The garlic shrimp was full of flavor and perfectly cooked and the spicy flavor was also amazing for the other order of shrimp. The fries were also probably the best fries I’ve had in a while, insanely crispy and the whole batch was gone in seconds. Great price as well and overall highly recommend.

We were pretty disappointed in this place. It smelled delicious when we walked up and my mom really wanted fish and chips and they had the best deal we could find. I saw the coconut shrimp with rice and Coleslaw that someone was eating and it looked good so I went for that.

The food came up pretty quickly, in about 10 minutes. Both of our orders were wrong. I did not receive my rice and Coleslaw but instead fries and the dip to dip my shrimp in was tartar sauce? Not a good combination at all, but that was all I had. I’m pretty sure they messed up and I was supposed to have gotten an orange sauce. So just be sure if you order to go that you open it all up and check it before you leave!

My dad’s fish looked like frozen fish sticks. It wasn’t any better than mine. Honestly, the fries were the best part of the meal and that isn’t saying much! We should have gone to Bubba’s right next door. Everyone was raving about it when we first arrived. I am betting it’s worth the extra few bucks for better food!

They messed up our order and told us it was our mistake. Not that great of food. Very expensive too... There are much better restaurants to eat at.
