It was a lovely experience- we greatly enjoyed the food, and the service was immediate without feeling rushed. The view cannot get much better than that- next time we will ask for a table on the terrace.

As guests at the Grand Hyatt this week - an experience we have generally LOVED - we were a bit surprised at the dining area ambiance which was quite dull/drab (it really did look like a library, and a rather sparsely stocked one at that), and with most of the indoor tables having nothing like a good view of the ocean/shoreline, despite the restaurant being so close. It felt very generic sitting inside, and we would have had to wait over an hour to get outdoor seating which is very limited. This seems like a design/location issue for the resort to consider. In terms of food, the maki rolls we had - spicy tuna and crunchy - were both excellent, as were the cocktails. However, the shrimp tempura, usually a very safe bet at a place like this, was dry and without the usual "pop" you expect when biting into the shrimp, it seemed over cooked and/or like the shrimp used wasn't top level. Service was solid, not outstanding but very good. I think with a few changes to the venue (open up the views? redecorate?) and more attention to consistency in the food, this could easily be a five-star restaurant, but for now it is a solid 4. We're going back again in a couple days and will stick with the excellent maki and cocktails and hope for an outdoor seat, which would elevate the experience for sure.

We loved our dinner at the Library. My wife had a Crunchy roll, and I had the lobster. Both were delicious. We started with the chilled rename which was excellent. And we ordered the fire roasted shishito peppers which came with a spicy honey mustard dipping sauce that I thought was fantastic. I would definitely go again. Service was very personable and attentive without being smothering. Enjoyed the dinner very much.
Good experience but for a sushi-style restaurant, with possible novice sushi eaters, it would be helpful for the meal deliverers to identify the various nigiri and sashimi orders we placed. They simply dropped the plates off at our table and walked away. Nothing said at all.

Stevenson never disappoints. Incredible sushi... amazing appetizers. Do NOT miss the Lobster Dynamite or the Tiramasushi for dessert!!!!!

This is a high priced place that is wonderful for the view. You have to line up early before it opens to get a good spot. For celebrating a special birthday, you would be wise to select another venue as they offer 3 bland choices for dessert, servers who could care less and rolls which were basic at best. Stevenson's has seen better days for sure. Would not return and would recommend other venues for a happier vibe.

Excellent sushi and cocktails. Waitress was very efficient and friendly. Food was excellent and cocktails were well made. Expanded seating since we visited last time and was more open and not noisy at all. A great place that has gotten better over time.
