Stevenson's library is such a beautiful exotic restaurant with such amazing tropical ambience. My husband and I had the dynamite lobster and sushi pizza which were both so delicious! The presentation of these dishes was so enticing and delectable! Everyone is so pleasant and showed us such kindness. We had a wonderful experience!

We ate here twice while staying at the Grans Hyatt Kauai. Second time we brought 7 others at the conference. Also encouraged others in our group to eat there. Jet who hosted us both time was so friendly and accommodating. Food is amazing and for a resort the prices were good. Definitely Recommend Stevenson Library and suggest reservations. Don't miss the Dynamite Lobster Tail or the crunchy Roll!!!!!

This is our second time and the food is outstanding! The only thing that could be improved is the waitress' assistance with understanding the menu items since we're not experts with sushi and the different fish. Both times we've had difficulty navigating the menu, yet, both times, we were successful in making incredible choices. Their top seller is the amazing appetizer called Lobster Dynamite. Don't miss this restaurant, even if you only somewhat like sushi. Our top choice in the Poipu area.

Our local friend couldnt wait to join us. She talked it up, had been going since she was little. We were looking to her to guide us. The server recognized her and yet kept addressing me. It was a little off putting. We kept having to ask for things. Shared plates, shoyu bowls, replacing chopsticks and silverware. Bussers were rushing us. Trying to clear plates before we were finished then not removing empty glassware. That had sat even after we ordered a second round. Before running food someone should move around dishes so there is a clear landing in a place like this. It should not be done by the guests.

Food was decent, they didn’t have any shishito peppers the night we were there, which was a bummer, but all the fish was good. The disposable chopsticks felt a bit out of place for the price point of the meal. The service was below-average for the price point and compared to other experiences nearby, some misses with refills and drinks and food taking a while. Atmosphere was top notch, perfect for a date night.

The food was outstanding. Every dish was beautifully prepared, full of flavor, and clearly made with care. The fish was incredibly fresh—some of the best sushi we’ve ever had—and you could truly taste the quality in every bite. Each roll and plate felt thoughtfully crafted, balancing freshness, texture, and flavor perfectly.
The atmosphere added to the experience as well, creating a calm, enjoyable setting that pairs perfectly with the cuisine. Stevenson’s is the kind of place where you savor every moment, from the first bite to the last.

A very Americanized restaurant that serves Japanese food. I wouldn’t call it a Japanese restaurant.
Food: Cod is the best dish 4.5/5, but should pair it with some rice since it’s a bit too heavy serve info just by itself. O’toro and uni nigiri is fresh but too pricey for those small quantities 4/5. Lobster dynamite is basically a crab cake and a bit too salty 3/5. Tempura has a very dense batter and a strong unpleasant taste from the baking soda 0/5. Macha tiramisu is NOT tiramisu, it’s a chocolate cheese cake that has no matcha taste which is fine, but pls don’t call it a macha tiramisu! As a chocolate cheese cake, 4/5; but as a macha tiramisu 0/5.
Service: Server is friendly and welcoming. But why giving disposable chopsticks?
Atmosphere: Very American style, like a steak house. No Japanese decoration at all.
All the other reviews are spot on, get the lobster dynamite it's phenomenal. The hamachi appetizer was great too. We ordered the omakase nigiri a bit pricey but crafted beautifully with excellent quality fish. The rainbow rolls were also great really can't go wrong with anything you order here.

I wish I was allowed to give a zero star as this experience was not great. The host was amazing but once I was sat at my table I was never greeted nor even given a glass of water in 30 minutes, so I decided to leave. I raised my hand to get the attention of the waiter/waitress and still nothing. Kinda sad I spent 7k to come to the hyatt for a grand experience and got about a 1k experience. I could of stayed home for this. Not impressed at all and I actually do hope you loose business as this was a waste of time. Only expect a bar here, without any good service other then from your host...
