Very good food and service. Menu has something for everyone. Fresh fish, Pork Chop was outstanding.
Our appetizer was amazing, service was the best but sadly when our dinners arrived the rice was tepid and the fish had dried out and was on the cold side. So very disappointed.
Small menu but great options and good food. Service is outstanding and quiet restaurant where you can talk easily without a lot of background noise.
Our choices were right and so delicious. Kauai Coffee Braised Beef, French Onion Soup and Bacon Wrapped Scallops for 2 . Perfectly filling. We went there at the end of check in but we could have time to taste everything, no rash. Very quiet at that time which we like. We would like to go back again once a while.
Our first impression was.not good because we followed signs for an elevator that led us thru garbage areas before getting to restaurant entrance. My husband wanted to turn back. Turns out there is a lovely, more direct stairs entrance leading off the main corridor. Luckily we persevered and were so glad to have done so. The restaurant dining room is lovely and there is a lively happy hour scene in the equally attractive bar area. Everything we ordered was fantastic— French onion soup, braised beef, bone-in pork chop and the best lava cake we've had. Our waitress was perfect as well. We will be back and will happily climb the steps next time!
Nice quiet place. Good to great food. We weren't really hungry so couldn't try a lot. Special prime ribeye was a little thin and salty. Probably how most like but hard to keep rare-er. Pasta and breast was delicious
Fabulous! The food, the gorgeous space, the service. I am so sorry of being in Kauai on vacation for 4 straight years, I somehow bypassed this place. I am so glad we made a last minute reservation here. It is absolutely the best restaurant we ate over 8 nights in Poipu. Also, folks, it is a really good value for what you get. The food is like a 5 star gourmet dining at a bargain.
Our waiter Brett was fantastic. He kept the drinks flowing and he asked all the right questions. The food was good but lacked that special touch to make it great. I would come back because of the service.
A wonderful meal and delightful server yet the process was very slow. We were seven people so maybe need to take that into consideration too! Quite expensive yet we are across an ocean :)
Will never eat there again. Small menu and what we had was disappointing. Thought we would never get our bill to check out!

Decided to try a new place - and were not disappointed. I had delicious beet salad and shrimp/polenta appetizer. We like to cook the amazing Hawaiian fish when we're in the islands. When we dine out, hubby gauges restaurant by their mac nut fish. Gave two thumbs up on their ono.
A hidden treasure in the heart of Poipu. Enjoy an elegant setting with excellent service and menu selections.
We have eaten here a few times during our visits to Kauai. We have always had excellent food and service! We will definitely be back!
Excellent meals had by all! Staff was very attentive and friendly. The restaurant atmosphere is beautiful! Highly recommend The Plate!
Excellent service all around from the hostess, bartender and our wait staff. Very friendly and accommodating. I ordered the paella and it was delicious! Highly recommend.
