We went to Hula Grill for our 25th wedding anniversary. It was the first time for our family at the restaurant. The waiter was fantastic and made our evening very enjoyable. The location was perfect with an ocean view. The only complaint was the food...fish was dry and hard. Kids chicken teriyaki tasted like it was microwaved from being frozen. I expected better food from this restaurant and better value for our money.
The quality of the food has definitely dropped. Hula Grill used to be our favorite special night out in Maui. This time the meat was undercooked for everyone and service wasn't great. Thet also used to have yummy bread with dipping oils but no longer provide that. Overall it was disappointing and we had much better experiences at other restaurants.
The environment here is amazing. It's right on the beach. We got to see a beautiful sunset. It's definitely on the pricey side, and the food took a while to come out, but it was delicious. Would definitely go back.
