Sad but it is closed up. We enjoyed coming here for years. People inside said they hope to open back up sometime in 2022. It would be nice if the google page didn’t say open along with their hours. We wasted time heading over there without calling ahead. You know, “if it is on the web it must be true” ?
Get your hours updated. Twice we came and you were closed. I understand Covid, but even more reason to update them. Just frustrating in a tourist town.
Creative eats for cheap for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Charming open air restaurant with a surfing theme. This is a great local bar setting.
Cozy little place. Loved the food and drinks but specially LOVED their homemade salsa! Brought some back to L.A. and I am cautiously eating it because I don't want it to run out!!!!
Always a great place for breakfast and bloodys. Their signature hot sauce is fantastic. I think Tony has been my server every time I've been here and always has a new joke.
Risotto was super delicious! So was the macadamia nut crusted fish. And the crab wontons. And it’s nice that it’s a bit off of Front Street - way more chill
This restaurant was certainly the best meal we had on Maui. Professionally prepared delicious cuisine and good service. Outdoor dining was wonderful. We were looking for something that was not down on Front Street since most were crowded and nosiy. this place was a couple blocks off Front and was just an unpretentious looking place. The name even made me wonder what it would be like. We were greatly surprised.
Great tasting food and amazing service. Our waitress, Cassandra, did a fantastic job!
Off the main path but worth it a locals place. Good food
We walked in behind a Japanese American family. The family went to sit down and were bombarded with racist abuse from a regular. The language was shocking - they had their children with them- it was some backward racism about the war and Japan! They walked out, as did we. The bar staff said nothing.

due to a combination of my poor planning and...well that's pretty much it, i ended up making a reservation for new years eve dinner here like 2 days before (me, wife and 3 teenage daughters). honestly if i were going to do it again and planened 6 months ahead of time i'd make the same reservation. when i called to make the res, it was so loud that the guy answering the phone couldn't understand my name and ended with a "well, no worries, i got you with 5 people at 7". so i showed up and walked into the place and there was a handmade "reserved" sign on a table on the patio, so we just sat there - when the bartender came out of the kitchen he was like "oh yeah, that's for you guys". food was awesome, vibe was super laid back and we really felt like we got a local feel which is what we wanted. not sure why this place wasn't packed but next time i'm in maui, i'm there!
Off of Front Street so prices are better. I like the owner. Good gal! Their in-house hot sauce is incredible. Brought it home. Fish tacos were generous portions. Sitting at the bar, unfortunate I was given a jigger amount & observed the regulars getting free pours! Too bad!
First off, if your in a hurry to get in and get out, don't go here that day. You'll be frustrated. My wife and I were on Maui for 11 days, and we ended up going to Lahaina Coolers 4 times! She has an excredibely restrictive (medical) diet, and they were able to accomidate. All 4 times, we came for breakfast. My wife got the fried rice each time (with a few changes from the way it's offered on the menu), and I got something different each time. We were always extremely pleased with our meals. We also enjoyed our interaction with the servers. They were often running around taking care of multiple groups, but they were always very personable. Very casual and laid back - great way to start the day on Maui. Enjoy!
My husband and I had dinner at Lahaina Coolers last night. I thought It was romantic, an early Valentine's Day night out. I had grilled chicken breast over mushroom risotto with braised greens and a glass of cabernet. It was delicious. Keith enjoyed a fish sandwich and fries. He couldn'nt finish it after eating the baguette and butter that the restaurant gave us. The service was great. The music was oldies 60's 70's that I liked very much. We've been here before and will go back again.
We came here first in 2000 and this place still rates at the top of all local restaurants. They still have the "Evil Jungle" pizza and pasta. Always friendly bar staff and a great open air setting on Dickenson Street near the square and Lahaina Harbor. No place cooler...
