Service was excellent to accommodate the food mishaps. The waiter and the manager were amazing. Pizza is way too thick of a crust and repeatedly not cooked all the way through.

James greeted us and found the perfect table for us to watch the sunset at. James then proceeded to serve us, was knowledgeable about all the entrees and provided the best service for our dinner. All the entrees we ordered were delicious. We will be back! Thank you!

We ordered hamicha (yellowtail appetizer) and prime rib for their Thursday night special. Our friends dinners came out. They forgot the appetizer and we had to inquire about our dinner (same as our friends dinner). After waiting about 15 minutes, the dinner came out, then the appetizer! Won't be going back.

We went for their Thursday night Prime Rib special. It came with a salad, followed by a 10 oz prime rib, garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus. It included either a warm brownie or a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Everything was delicious! Prime rib and au jus was really flavorful. Think we may be going back next Thursday night! Service was very good. The restaurant is located next to the pool at the Westin Nanea. Great views!

Had the sunset menu with mixed greens salad, fresh catch marlin, followed by coffee ice cream, this was my third night visiting - the food. Is that good!!! Oliver and James are both pleasant and attentive servers.

After 10 perfect days on Maui, my husband and I chose Mauka Makai for dinner on our last night. We arrived at the restaurant in time to watch the magnificent sunset. The food was perfect! I had the prime rib special which came with a salad and dessert. My husband's scallops and risotto were also delicious, but he was disappointed to only get 3 not very large scallops in his meal so I would avoid the scallops.

Right on the pool area and ocean view. Food was good. They were running a Prime Rib Thursday special, so great to have some beef in Hawaii.

First time eating at this restaurant. I found the service excellent. Oliver was a great server, extremely friendly , and took good care of us. We got the short rib won ton appetizers and my wife got the chicken while I got the Thai curry with chicken. In short, the food was really well prepared, very flavorful and well presented. The view can't be beat as it was overlooking the pool with a beautiful view of the ocean. Having been to Maui many many times, I thought this was also a good value for the area. It's not inexpensive by any means, but relative to other restaurants I've been to it was a good value for dinner. I was curious about some of the negative reviews as I just didn't experience anything negative - food was delicious, the service was great, and I would easily return there on my next trip.

Very nice buffet style experience with a large amount of options. Breakfast time was quiet, but I can imagine it can be loud during the day time if there are children at the pool. During my morning time here there were numerous small birds hanging around waiting for an opportunity to dash at plates, so just a friendly heads up on that.

We ate here 4 or 5 times during our stay, mostly for dinner. Always timed it with a great sunset. Food and service were great. We hit up everything from Merrimans to Hula Grill and Mauka Makai can hold its own. All of our service was great but we had Jaylani several times and she was always on her game remembering us and providing great conversation.
