The best Mai Tai in Maui! This is located in Whaler’s Village and we went for the Mai Tai hype and it was worth it! The ambience is so Hawaii, food especially fried and gnocchi, service and vibe is great. They have non alcoholic Mai Tai version too

I tried Mai Tais all over the island and kept fantasizing about the 3 I had over at Monkey Pod. This was the first location where I saw chickens around, which was kind of cool. I was served the wrong food (we had a big wedding party) but I was half in the bag and whatever I ate was freaking delicious. We confirmed with the other person at the table that my food was also delicious. Very rare when a place can "mess up" and the food is so good that it is irrelevant. This is one of those places where you want to order a seafood dish (if that is your thing) because you can tell it is super fresh. Don't ignore the lobster devilled eggs. Just pay the $$$ and shove them into your mouth. You will not regret it. Going back to that Mai tai...I'm pretty sure they whisk egg white and pineapple juice to create a delicious foam on top of the beverage to make it exquisite. Truly a mind-bendingly palatable beverage. I usually only ever order one drink, but I had to have three. It is weird how Hawaii seems to bring food out when it is ready, rather than all at the same time, but it seems like a customary thing. Overall, I wish I had a Monkey Pod closer to home. If I were the owner, I would change the name to "Chicken Pod" though just cause...well, there are chickens everywhere. Best dining experience in Hawaii, even above and beyond the Luau food at Paradise cove. Not even comparable.

Five out of five stars for the pork and pineapple pizza alone. DAMN it was sooooooo good. Sounds like there's too much going on for it to make sense, but it is so perfect. Truffle pizza was pretty basic. Too much cream sauce not enough flavor. Mai tai was pretty good. A little sweet.

OMG.. If you haven't been to Maui, and even if you have, you have got to have the MonkeyPod MaiTai with lilikoi foam.. a staple in Lahaina. The shrimp and hamakua mushroom potstickers are exquisite! And the spicy mustard is a plus! Service is amazing and always a great conversation. A must visit when visiting Maui! Also tried the pork and pineapple pizza which was startling delicious, which is huge, being a born and raised New Yorker
