Ono Gelato Co.

The sorbets were great. Tried mango and raspberry. Not overly sweet, which is a plus for me. I should have taken a photo. The main photo on this listing (Jan2026) shown non-vegan chocolate 🤣. No vegan gelato, just the sorbets. Definitely Maui prices too at $8 per scoop! Updated from previous review on 2026-01-02

The lady who works in the morning with glasses is so grumpy and yells at kids for touching the glass. So disappointing because we look forward to gelato ever time we come but the customer service has gone down hill. Kids get excited when they see ice cream and now we don’t want to come back. The ice cream is yummy but beware of the lady that works in the morning. She needs some anxiety meds or something. 😜

Delicious gelato! Must try: cheese cake gelato

This is probably the only ice cream vendor I have seen that doesn’t allow samples. Mediocre gelato and extremely limited choices. Expensive and small amount. Single star as a warning to owner to improve.

Ono Gelato offers a small selection of dairy-free flavors: strawberry, raspberry, coconut, and mango. The raspberry was the standout, bright, tart, and flavorful. The mango and coconut lacked the richness I’ve come to expect from Maui Gelato in Kihei. Overall, Ono Gelato delivers a decent scoop, but it doesn’t quite reach the same level of flavour intensity or variety as Maui Gelato. Still, it gives vegans the option of a cool treat when in Kaanapali.

I had the coconut gelato and Kona coffee gelato ohhh so Ono!!! 😋😋😋 especially on a hot sunny day after working. 🤙🤙

We got a 2-scoop cup with mango & strawberry sorbet. They were delicious mixed together but also separate. I forgot to take a picture

It's perfectly good gelato, but, as you'd expect, it's expensive. $8 for a scoop in a cup.

I asked the lady for recommendations and tiramisu was one of my favorites!

Located next to Monkeypod inside of Whaler’s Village Mall. Selections were limited and there was no tasting allowed. So we just picked two random flavors: tiramisu and cookies & cream. Both were decent, but not good enough to tell your grandma about them. I think it was $7 per a very small scoop or $8 for two very small scoops.

We love this place and visit everytime we are in maui.

Hazelnut chocolate ice cream was very very good.

My son opted for cookies and cream and LOVED it. My daughter tried the coconut and very much disliked it. Somewhat disappointing experience because they dont offer samples. Wanted to try it first but couldn't. Bought it and tossed it.

Never open, don’t even have pistachio!
