Each of the service staff were conscientious and professional with individualized interactions for each party. I was seated in a lovely spot with a great view and watched the sunset while listening to the luau drums. People watching here is always fantastic, but especially with the luau guests being escorted across the plantation by a guide with a flaming sword leading the way! Yummy & Fun :-)
Great ambiance. The house makes you feel like you are at home. Service was very good. Our steak was overdone and they apologetically took it back and gave a perfect replacement with a free dessert. Will definitely go back.
One of our favs restaurant on Kauai. Yes its a bit traditional-The lanai/ courtyard location is lovely and service impeccable. Excellent wine selection. Kiawe smoked prime rib-was delish. Followed our servers (Jeff) recommendation to add scallops to Filet. Perfect!
OMG- what a beautiful setting. Then came the most amazing food. We all ate their fabulous Caesar salad and vegetarian egg rolls- yummm 2 of us had the osso bucco- to die for. One had the imperial shrimp and another the burgundy chicken. We left praising just how good everything was. We also enjoyed shopping at the cute little shops
Wonderful lunch outside by the garden. Caprese salad was excellent as was the grilled vegetable sandwich with sweet potato fries. Good selection of wines by the glass to accompany dinner. Beautiful location and good service.
Four of us celebrated our 45th and 40th anniversaries at Gaylords - one of our very favorite restaurants on the islands. The food was wonderful, our waiter delightful, and of course the ambiance perfect. We'll be back next year......Mahalo for a lovely memory.
The ambiance, location, serenity was all wonderful. Service was excellent. Staff was friendly. The food plating and presentation was wonderful. The fish dish I thought was heavy on the white sauce and too sweet which I did not expect. The fried Brie was excellent and would recommend!
one of the best meals of my life and I ate here twice!! traveled all over the world so that says alot
The shops here ARE NOT ADA-compliant, despite the sign on the wall by the steps. When you ask the hostess, she'll tell you there is no ADA compliance. They could have just said that on the sign.
Many thanks to Gaylord for making this happen!

Ambiance and setting has an old Hawaiian vibe. Fried Brie is a great appetizer. Service was good. My only complaint was both the fish and shrimp dishes were overcooked. This made the shrimp tough and the fish dry. Hawaiian chefs should be able to cook seafood properly. In spite of this I will give this restaurant another try.
It was a great experience.

Food was fantastic, I would definitely recommend based on the grounds alone. But, the food was equally impressive. Be sure you plan ahead and make reservations as most times were booked up but I do believe they have some availability for walk ins as well. On these grounds they also offer a safari, run tasting room, a dolewhip and ice cream stand, chocolate room, gift shops, train ride and other amazing things. You could honestly spend an entire day here and If you have the time I'd highly recommend. We've actually been back a few different times on separate trips because we love it so much. Drinks were strong and menu offerd seafood with island flares is how I would best describe it. Service was a little slow but I'm guessing they were understaffed. 1 server for their outside terrace but not sure what they had inside tbh. That would be my only gripe. Took nearly 20 minutes after we got our food boxed up to get the check and pay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Gaylords. The food is delicious and the setting is perfect. Anna (our server) was very helpful and friendly. We recommend the fried brie to start. We will likely return for lunch before leaving the island.
Wow, what a disappointment! We have been coming here yearly for as along as I can remember, and up until this visit we would have continued that tradition. From the moment we arrived, early, to have a cocktail things were off. The bartender was inattentive and cranky. We were then banished to the side patio (there was PLENTY of room in the main seating area). We had very inexperienced servers, although super nice, they brought our appetizers, soup and main courses all at the same time. We felt like they just wanted us to leave. Unfortunate really, because we so loved coming here. We were celebrating an anniversary and were prepared to order a very expensive bottle of wine, but was rushed though so quickly we didn't get the chance to order it, nor were we ever asked. We also came on a night a cruise ship was in, what a mistake. Again, we were not the priority. I am not sure we will give the restaurant another chance, as this experience was so unpleasant. You have better options in the area (Hualani's) if you want fabulous food and impeccable service and views.
