The Plantation House by Gaylords

We were excited to return to Gaylord's as we had loved it in the past. We visited each time we returned to Kauai. This time was different. The prices were still the same, Expensive. The menu was not creative, the salads were expensive but very boring, processed nut crumbles, arugula and feta cheese. We had a hard time choosing from a limited menu and then the fish was tough and white rice was cold. We were seated in a spot far from main restaurant in cheap chairs with old table. The hostess had no expression and seemed to care less that we were there. Our server was pleasant, but rehearsed. The bathrooms were dirty with paper towel cans overflowing. The toilet paper was not reachable. I believe people were using paper towels as toilet paper. I am sad as this was a favorite restaurant which I will not wish to visit again.

Elegant dining experience with a fantastic view. Arrive early to take a 40 minute train ride through the plantation and then a rum tasting after dinner. They have a luau experience as well.

The plantation house was amazing!! The ambiance was beautiful, the service was great, and the food does not disappoint. The french onion soup amazing, the filet was made to perfection and very tender, the short ribs and ossobuco were amazing and the ravioli was in a sweet sauce. Don't forget to leave room for the desert , are party tried the blueberry cheese and the goat cheese cheesecake both were delicious.

Excellent lunch - our guests each enjoyed their Shrimp Scampi and we enjoyed your meatloaf. The atmosphere is amazing and the service is outstanding.

Well our waiter was the downfall. I ordered the beef dip sandwich with pineapple added. Was brought no pineapple so politely I said oh the pineapple is not here. Instead of saying oh I'll get that ASAP he goes you said NO PINEAPPLE. Pineapple does not come on the sandwich so why would I say NO PINEAPPLE! Oh well I just found that rude.

Service was spot on tonight. The food was good. My wife's fish was excellent. I ordered the short ribs. They were kinda overcooked and dry. The rest of the plate was great. Quick fried Brie starter is awesome. Finished it off with a piece of banana cream pie.

Delicious food, wonderful service, and beautiful, relaxing venue

This used to be our favorite spot on the island to have a nice lunch or dinner with family. The food used to be amazing. We were disappointed this time. The food was just okay while the prices remained extremely high. Great atmosphere. Service was just okay. Our waiter acted like he didn’t want to be there.

Great place to eat. Highly recommend, great collection of pupus (appetizers), amazing service.

Really enjoyed our lunch here! The atmosphere was super relaxing and the food was both tasty and reasonably priced. I really enjoyed my fish special of the day and the banana creme pie!

Superb family dinner in all aspects. Highly recommended and we will definitely return.

Wonderful restaurant and my kids and I spent our last evening in Kauai with dinner at Gaylord's on 6/22/26. Service and ambiance is outstanding. My only suggestion might be for the parking attendants being more educated on how to arrange vehicles on the grass parking lot, as we had some difficulty extricating ourselves upon leaving. Our waitress Mele was terrific and provided us with much insight into Kauai and some helpful golf info too. Please tell her the Sausedo family will return soon and take her along for a golf outing!

Great food nice atmosphere

The bar happy hour is my favorite!!! The food is tasty and the drinks are great. WARNING: Laurie's espresso martinis with the roasted vanilla bean will ruin all other espresso martinis.

the food was 10/10 delishoes the burgir was very good also the fish n chips too. the salad woth goat chees was great also.
