We had been to Kauai several times, but never visited Hamura until this trip. We stayed at Kauai Palms, which is in walking distance from Hamura. We stopped by and were quickly seated. Deep fried oysters were delicious and the saimin hit the spot. It definitely has the nostalgic feel to it. The highlight was the lilikoi chiffon pie. I ate it for desser and then again for my breakfast the following day. Ono! The workers were kind and helpful and the set up of the restaurant ensures...
This eatery has been a staple in Kauai since 1951!\nGreat Saimin and BBQ chicken skewers are a MUST.\nCash only and go early lines are around the building lunch time!\nWell done everyone.
Local place for saimin. We had oxtail, which is only available Monday and Friday. However, it was very fatty and I would not recommend it. The beef on a stick was good, chicken on a stick not as good. The dessert (lilikoi chiffon pie) was like a lemon meringue pie and was good.
