My wife is a soba connoisseur. This is mainly because she is very picky about her food. She loved the soba noodles, and I did too - though I am not a connoisseur. It's obvious from the bite of the noodles that it's made with 100% buckwheat. I especially enjoyed the black cod, and the crunch of the toasted buckwheat on the spicy tuna rolls. The lighting, decor, ambience, and crockery were all clearly thoughtfully selected. Service was also very warm. Soba, good people, and great ambience. What's not to like!

Very good food. The atmosphere was excellent and this is the best resturant I've ever been to. The traditional Japanese appeal helped me acclimate to the splendid cuisine offered. I especially enjoyed the articulatly prepared Soba Noodles. I highly recommend this fine establishment.

We were recommended this place by a spear fishing guide and it was Amazing. Our server was so nice and charismatic. We had a party of 5 and ordered a variety of things. Black Cod was the highlight. The Nigiri and Maki Rolls were fresh and fantastic. And the soba noodles were also great.

The atmosphere was intimate and authentic to Japan but was all outside in Hawaii fashion.

The best meal we had in the states! The fish were super fresh and delicious!

I was told to expect "flea markets, not warehouse stores; aged wood, not Pergo; rice paper, not glass", and I got astroturf on the ground (the first red flag of many) and sashimi that almost made me puke.

the noodles weren't anything to write home about, the service was subpar, and the decor was pleasent.

Our night improved significantly after we were so off-put by the food that we left, unsatisfied, before ordering anything else.

The shoyu is in eyedroppers. Do not recommend.

Dietary restrictions: The Soba noodles are made from 100% buckwheat.

Parking: No off-Street parking at location, and street parking is always full in Pāʻia. Parking options are a paid lot nearby or a public lot (often full/close to at busy times) across town

Wheelchair accessibility: Rocky terrain with stepping stone at entrance. Would be very difficult to get most wheelchairs through the entrance walkway. seating is very close to entrance.

The food is okay, and the atmosphere is great (aside from the mosquitos), but the service is extremely slow. Even with a reservation, it took 15 minutes to get seated, and another 20 minutes for the waiter to bring us menus. Every single step is extremely slow. In my opinion the food is not worth the wait.

Such a beautiful setting, unusual and very pleasant. Sushi is amazing! So noodles as well. We’re so happy we found this place. We will be back for sure. We tried the eggplant and monk fish liver and they were both amazing.

I was there last week. The service was very bad. My son wanted to sit a seat close to the counter, but a male server rejected it. At that time, there was only one customer and my family at the restaurant.
The food tasted worse than instant noodles.

I speak English and Japanese. I talked to a female server the reason I didn't tip them.

And the food price is rip off.

Soba was true, high quality and pure buckwheat which is hard to find. Service was great and the atmosphere even better! Highly recommend for a casual bowl of noodles and/or sushi

The best Chu Toro I’ve had, tuna belly that literally melts in your mouth. Excellent fresh sashimi in a quiet peaceful tranquil environment. A poetic place to spend the evening, a hidden gem in Paia.
