“Delicious mochi with fun flavors and types to choose from. My favorite was the butter mochi & Okinawan sweet potato, but there’s definitely something for everyone!Stand in line, place your order, then wait for your order to be called. This process could be improved for a more efficient process, but it wasn’t too bad. They also have pre-packaged variety packs to choose from that you don’t have to wait for. We waited maybe 15 minutes on a Saturday in February but I can imagine the wait being longer on busier weekends.“

“We had vouchers for breakfast from the hotel down the road, so we enjoyed cookies and breakfast sandwiches each morning. This is a small business run by friendly locals. They have delicious baked goods, we especially loved the passion fruit shortbread cookies. They also have a huge selection of jams, jellies, and fruit butter. We ended up buying eight jars and having them shipped home. They arrived intact and incredibly well packed. Shipping was a reasonable price and they give discounts if you buy and ship in bulk. We would have loved to try their shave ice as well, but did not get a chance. Definitely check this place out on your way to or from Akaka Falls.Vegetarian options: Most of the baked goods are vegetarian. They can also make an egg and cheese breakfast sandwich.“

“This cozy bakery in Hilo had some great pastries available. We arrived about 10am and missed out on scones but I had the BEST key lime pie I've ever had here. Also my lemon blueberry muffin was so yummy along with a cup of coffee! Definitely a popular spot so go early if you can!“

“A great stop and definitely worth a trip! If you want to see the oven in action, you should go on Thursdays (10 a.m. to 12 p.m.). Free tours are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays. All information is on the homepage! We thought the tour was great! Be prepared for some history lessons too ? The area is also beautiful - would be great to use it for other events as well... (although there are many mosquitoes, so bring some repellent)“
