Was the food and drinks expensive-yes.
Was the service excellent- yes.
Was the view and the atmosphere top notch- of course!!!!
Absolutely perfect setting to watch the sun set and disappear behind the green mountains of Kaua‘i. The food was amazing, we had three courses and were not disappointed. Secret tip: the cheesecake with coconut lime sorbet for dessert is incredible.
Crazy expensive for zero flavor. We ordered Pizza when we got home. Disappointing for a 40th Birthday Dinner.
Great view and good food but pricey!
Gorgeous spot! Mimosas and French toast blew my mind
World class views
Amazing view. Good service. Overpriced, not great food. We’d go back for cocktails and sunset next time.
Aside from the beyond-amazing view and the elegance of the Princeton Resort, the cuisine offered on the Makana Terrace is top notch featuring some of the best seafood and steak to be found cooked perfectly and very well presented. The ambience, especially at sunset on a good weather day is glorious. This is a great spot for romance.
The atmosphere is unbeatable. To be able to sit on the terrace and watch the sunset while sipping champagne is indescribable! Unfortunately my dinner of grilled Mahi Mahi didn't come as described and our waitress was inattentive and short, to say the least. The manager tried to set things right but don't think we'd go back.
We went for breakfast. The view was beautiful. My wife and i joked that the breakfast was free and the view was only 100 dollars.

The view of Hanalei Bay and Makana mtn is spectacular but the food fell far short of expectations. For almost $200US we expected gourmet, what we got was family restaurant fail. Even the person delivering the meals was unenthusiastic!
Very disappointing experience. The only thing worth going there for is the view, so be sure (if you go) to go early. Or just get a drink at the bar then leave before you have to eat the mediocre and bland food. Wayyy too overpriced. We went on Valentine’s Day on our honeymoon and the restaurant neglected to inform us that it was a set-menu. Slow service. Just choose somewhere else to eat.
Well the view is top 10 in the world, I would say, and the seafood was very good, albeit somewhat small portions. Mai Tai was excellent too. Go for the view alone and it's still a win.
The food was really good.
This is the probably the best restaurant you could ask for. The food, service and views beat anywhere I’ve been. Took my wife for her Birthday and she loved it.
