The views here are really what you come (pay) for. The atmosphere is gorgeous, amazing views. Service is top notch, and the food is delicious but the menu when we went was small, and very expensive. We had a group of 4 and shared several small plates, glad we had a wonderful experience. I would go back for the view, but probably not the dining.

We came here for an anniversary meal and were disappointed. Mostly related to service issues. We have stayed at many 5 star properties across the world and are pretty easy to please. However, waiting 10 minutes to have our drink order taken and then another 15 minutes for the drinks to arrive (even the non-alc coca cola) on the hottest day of the year when there was maybe 5 other tables seemed a bit much. We pretty much always had to flag someone down to take our order, or get refills, even on water. We were consistently left with nothing to drink. Even when our food came out and we had empty glasses and asked for refills - we were left waiting. At a property of this quality, and with the restaurant being almost empty, I would expect to always have a beverage. Lastly, I noticed tables nearby with different servers who were very well attended to. Another couple was also celebrating their anniversary and was given complimentary champagne and their server offered to take their picture. For us, even though I specified we were celebrating our anniversary, it was never acknowledged. I Think the service you receive will depend on the server you have. But I would expect consistency at this level.
The drinks were absolutely fantastic and the views were great. The food was good as well - but the quality was lacking. The salmon roll was just a veggie roll with a paper thin slice of salmon on top. Although it tasted alright, I didn't feel the quality was worth the price.
All in all I would come back without a reservation and grab a couple of drinks at the bar and appreciate the view - but I wouldn't come for a special occasion or food. For a nice meal service I would try other local establishments in Hanalei.

This is definitely a splurge event experience and not for everyone. The food was great, but limited small bites menu tending toward sushi, so if raw fish is not on your diet for whatever reason, don't plan on eating. The chicken was delicious, though. The drinks were excellent and my IPA was not the most expensive I have ever had, but close. We had a reserved table, were greeted promptly and seated outside with a great view of Hanalei Bay. Our service was typical of Kauai, but perfectly relaxing. The relaxed atmosphere and views of Hanalei Bay at sunset is magical. I recommend making a reservation, arriving a little early and forget the prices.

We chose Welina Terrace to celebrate our honeymoon. We were so excited — the photos looked amazing, the menu sounded perfect, and we wanted this to be one of the highlights of our trip. Sadly, it turned into one of the most disappointing dining experiences we’ve ever had.
We arrived early for our 6:45 reservation and were seated right away with a beautiful view of the sunset. But 40 minutes went by before we even received water. In that time, no one checked on us, and I eventually had to go back to the hostess to ask. Tables all around us had attentive service, while we sat waiting and wondering if we had somehow been forgotten.
When a server finally came, we immediately ordered drinks and appetizers. The food was delicious when it arrived — but our drinks never came, our server never returned, and in an hour we were only visited once. There were no refills, no chance to order anything else, and no effort to acknowledge what was happening. When we asked for the check, the drinks we never received were still included.
What makes this especially heartbreaking is that this was our honeymoon — a once-in-a-lifetime moment we wanted to celebrate in a beautiful setting. Instead, we felt sad, disappointed, and honestly embarrassed sitting there ignored while others around us were cared for. I’m not someone who complains easily, but this was beyond what I could overlook.
At a five-star hotel restaurant, the food should be excellent and the service should make you feel welcomed and cared for. Unfortunately, this was the opposite. There was no attempt to make it right, which only made the night more disappointing.
I truly hope management reads this, because the experience we had doesn’t align at all with the reputation of this restaurant. We would love for someone to reach out and make this right — not just for us, but so no other couple celebrating something special has to leave feeling the way we did.

The most gorgeous hotel and bar/ lounge on Kauai. You are met instantly with the most sublime island architecture, soaring and yet comfortable with tiki torches and gardens bringing the open air inside.
As you make your way to the lounge you can't help notice the valet service seating, a row of woven swings for 2. Under a church of wood beams harkening grandeur and sailing ships. The materials are simple. Yet lessons in interior decoration, textures, and nature as the ultimate inspiration. ALL in service to framing the most stunning window without glass, and view of Hanalei.
Hot, beautiful bods, candles, flattering lighting all cooled by Hawaiian trade winds and a talented jazz trio.
Especially at sunset, it gets jammed and service suffers. Just expect it. Chill and breathe. You don't go to Welina for speed beverages. Make reservations. Be on the waiting list even if you are 5th! Take a walk. And just when you give up hope of getting a table. TEXT MESSAGE, that your table is ready. Remember you are paying for the ART 2.
I had the Kauai Tai and got hammered drinking half. With Koloa (Kauai) local Rum. Pineapple, Orange, and lime. Wowee. It didn't need an umbrella. Worth the price. The sushi treats delectable revelations. MOREISH. Mocktails yummy 2.
Chance was an enthusiastic kind server. Was he swamped? Yes. Did I want to ring the neck of the two women seating humanity and taking reservations? Yes. But that soon was forgotten. Heavenly spot, Kauai at it's best, where people come and go, live and die, and so far haven't ruined it yet. Don't go if you are in a hurry. It's about island time and the heavenly bubble of Hanalei.

Go for a drink but spend your money on local food establishments instead. I went here for my husband’s birthday to see the sunset views. Unfortunately, we were seated in the back area on the couches facing the inside of the hotel so couldn’t see the view. Sushi came out with paper thin slices of fish on top. Not sure if they were running low but would’ve preferred they told us they were out of sushi instead of serving us what they did. Waitress was very very kind.

Chance was our waiter. He was absolutely amazing! He knew there menu & great at suggestions for the our family members that needed encouragement to try new dishes. He checked on us often and made sure there wasn't a need/want that went unmet! We fell in love with the sunset on the terrace. The light radiating from the sun gave a colorful dancing backdrop over the water. It really felt like as if we were in a dream.

Definitely worth the price for the food and atmosphere. Can't beat the views here. Some would say it's too expensive but read the menu and know what you are ordering. This is delicacies not stuffing your face. Every piece of food is exploding with flavor. Definitely recommend.

We loved our dinner here as we watched the sunset adjacent to the beautiful mountains of Kauai. The food is delicious and the live music definitely adds to the lovely ambiance.

We were able to be seated without a reservation, (just 2 of us). We were seated on the patio and it took a long time to be approached by a server. We had sauce spilled on us twice, the service was slow, and the food was no where near worth the $. For two drinks, three rolls and a dessert we paid around $250 which is completely fine, however to be missing BOTH great food and great service, we were very sad to leave with the experience that we did.

Forgot our table's order and staff's excuse was they got busy. Meanwhile other new guests were being sat and served their food. Just being honest and owning up to it would have been fine. This is sad service for a high establishment.

Did not have to wait to be seated. Hostess was great. Once seated we waited for about 20 minutes (seriously) before a server came over to say hi and take a drink order. You come here for the atmosphere. Our bill was almost $300 for 2 people but it was our dinner with their limited menu. The chicken kraage...was basically 4 small chicken nuggets.
