Gypsea Gelato

Complete hit or miss. Some of their flavors are good, some of their flavors are terrible. Their Kona coffee flavor tasted like dirty dish water. Not a bit of coffee flavor to it. No offer of a refund. I'd recommend going to another ice cream or gelato shop nearby, but there is none.

It's an okay spot but the gelato texture isn't really there, feels more like ice cream than gelato. It's okay as a dessert but probably not the gelato you're used to if you've had the ones in europe.

Friendly service and delicious Gelato!
I was surprised to see they offer a mix of 2 flavors on any size purchase ?? and they also add a squirt of caramel on top!

For a great after dinner treat go to Gypsies Gelato and get a 2 scoop medium cup. I prefer Lilikoi and Kona coffee, but if you are into chocolate and coconut you will not be disappointed. They also have sorbet flavors that are also a good choice. Small store means having to eat outside at the King’s Shops in the warm sun, but there are plenty of benches in the shade.

Pretty good

The gelato is DELICIOUS, definitely get the TOASTED COCONUT HAYSTACK and LILIKOI (PASSIONFRUIT). The staff are incredibly friendly as well, definitely a place you've gotta stop into while on the big island.

During our visit on the Big Island, we often would stop by the Gypsea Gelato shop for one or two of their delicious gelatos. The two employees , Grace & Kai offered wonderful suggestions so we always had wonderful desserts after dining at one of the restaurants at the King’s Mall.

This was my last stop in the big island before flying home. They had some wonderful flavors to choose from. I was very pleased.

Looooooved the oreo flavor. Around $5 for a mini. I did really appreciate that they have all the cups laid out on the counter with some fake gelato in it so you know the approximate amount you’ll get…. but it’s a little hard to see how shallow the cup might be. Especially for a mini! The top of the dark shaded area in this picture is the actual bottom of the cup. So around a third of the cup is not actually cup. Hit bottom a lot sooner than I expected.

Gelato was so good here! Love the huge scoops and being able to mix flavors.
