I wanted to Thank you for the amazing time dining at your establishment. The highlight of all was our Server Rose, she went above and beyond both nights we dined there. Rose is a exceptional Server and I hope you appreciate her as much as we did. Hopefully it will get back to Rose that we feel like she's a great person...

We just came here to have lunch. The food was ok, not that great. Had pineapple chicken fried rice and sizzling shrimp. Expected the fried rice to be better and not just have rice and 2 small pineapple pieces on top.
The shrimp was good, was just lacking salt/pepper and spice.
The location is amazing though , on the beach

We arrived at about 4:00 and got a great beach table in the front - perfect for watching the amazing sunset. Ordered the Big Rum drink in Bamboo souvenir cups that are cheap to refill, especially during happy hour. Ordered the ceviche and calamari for pou pous and then ribs for dinner - there were enough ribs for breakfast with scrambled eggs the next morning. Our server was excellent and the live music with hula dancer was awesome way to enjoy the evening under the stars.

Food and drinks: Top quality, perfect portions, good value.

We had a great time. Even the wait was pleasant. There was a beautiful beach and sunset and live music. The food was good. What more could I ask for?

We came for dinner. The pizzas were really good. There is indoor and outdoor seating on the sand with fantastic views. We sat outside and enjoyed the view so much I forgot to take a picture.

A great place with amazing views of the ocean and beautiful sunsets. If you're lucky, you'll spot turtles resting on the beach.
And when it comes to food, it's poetry. Everything I ate was delicious.

I highly recommend it.

Unfortunately I don’t recommend. Longtime Big Island resident here. Eat out twice a month. I felt compelled to post a review so others won’t be disappointed or get sick. The only thing good was the hostess that graciously took care of use after kitchen and bar messed up orders. Be aware… No reservations, 90 minute waitlist. Waited with a drink from the outdoor bar which was surrounded by a very active kids playground. Once seated in an open space, no atmosphere, no view of the beach, live music very far away, my second drink was not even the same as the first. Was giving a remixed one some time later. Appetizers- only ordered one, was brought two, which I couldn’t eat. Dinner- I ordered the GF macnut fish. It was tasty and fish was cooked nicely. However later that night I got sick. If you have gluten issues DON’T eat anything there. My date had the hook, line and sinker dinner. Quality was mediocre. Not served hot. Fish was dry, over cooked. Unfortunately he threw it up about 4 hours later. Something wasn’t right with the food or the processing of it. Won’t go there again.

The vibes cannot be beat. Lava lava is an experience. A sink your toes in the sand, listen to acoustic music, and just chill kind of place.

Located right on the beach Lava Lava is surrounded by warped trees, lava rock enclaves and slow moving waves. It’s a perfect place for families, couples or even big groups.

While the location is the star of the show the food and drink is better than you’d expect from a prime location beach bar. They do a nice job of mixing culinary techniques with island flavors to bring out the best of their dishes.

On our three trips to Lava Lava we tried the ceviche, edamame, garlic bread, pineapple fried rice and coconut shrimp. (Along with burgers and chicken tenders for the kids).

The service is smooth. They keep the pace chill but the food and drink come out quickly.

Waits can be quite long but they have a huge grassy area with ping pong, jenga, corn hole, and connect four to keep the kids entertained.

If you’re in Waikoloa. Lava lava is a must must.

Someone we got a lounge table right in front of the stage. If you’re trying to get here for sunset, come about 90 minutes early and take your time ordering. 1) order drinks, 2) once drinks are delivered order an appetizer, 3) after app is delivered order another round of drink or a salad, 4) after drinks/salad are delivered, order dinner, 5) order dessert.

The meals are large and can be split.
