Good ambience, food was delicious but overpriced, not surprised for Hawaii hotel restaurant pricing.
Overpriced mediocre food. Selection was limited. Service was good but food was either too salty or bland depending on the dish ordered. Will not try again.
Subpar Italian Food and Sky-High prices. For the resort prices, the least they can do is up the quality so the food tastes good. The only thing that saved the night was a very nice server.
Nui is a great place to go for wonderful and authentic Italian food. The restaurant is located in the Hilton Waikoloa Beach resort here on the Big Island of Hawaii. The service is great and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. It has a large covered open area where the views are lovely and the noise level is low so you can have great conversation during your dining experience. They also have a relaxing bar area to enjoy a quick drink. I highly recommend giving them a try if you are visiting (or living) in Hawaii.
unsophisticated and overpriced. felt like the menu was very held back to meet the lowest common denominator. The fresh pasta was good but rich.
Our server never once came back and filled my wife's water glass. I ordered chicken Parmesan and cheese was never offered for the spaghetti. The manager checked on us but our server never did.
Die Speisen entsprechen wenig der italienischen Küche. Handwerklich fehlerhaft, Muschelsplitter in den Nudeln, Nudeln zu weich gekocht, Parmesan fehlt am Tisch....
Complete Rip-off! Go elsewhere, this business was empty, most likely due to the ridiculous prices. Extremely overpriced and the food sucked. I had a half sheet of pizza, I mean bread with a little tomato sauce and cheese on it ($38.00) really. Dominos makes a better pizza. Wife had a sub-standard salad with no protein $28.00 - basic dinner salad. Dinner was $100 ridiculous. Only positive was that the staff was nice, most likely because they are local and need a job. Whether it's a resort or not, they need better marketing and quit ripping people off for basic food!
The Caesar Salad ($28) was to die for and the pizza ($ 38!) delicious. I expected my wine to cost $18 - 20 but the prices were outrageous.
$53 for chicken parm is insane but so far not the worst option

I celebrated my good friends' anniversary with them at Hilton Waikoloa and had a great dinner at Nui Italian. Yes, it is over priced but all the resort restaurants are overpriced. They were busy and even though we had made a reservation for an outdoor table there were none available so we sat by the kitchen. The service was prompt and attentive and the drinks and food arrived quickly. I had the house Chardonnay which was light and refreshing. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The food was very good. I had the gnocchi special which was fresh made with a creamy sauce, local mushrooms, braised greens and parmesan crisps. It was some of the best Italian food I've ever had. My friends choices were good but mine was the best. The server brought out a complimentary layered cake for my friends' anniversary treat. I would return to Nui Italian and recommend to others.
OVERPRICED!
$26 for a ceaser salad with a $14 upcharge for chicken added.
$44 for spaghetti, REALLY!?
Very friendly and quick service. Beautiful restaurant on hilltop overlooking a bay. Ate outside and very pleasant. Food delicious.
Just not the experience we had expected. It is ok for a quick pizza with kids. We did not have kids. They were inflexible on the menu as far as trying to order a custom pizza. The food was lacking in quality for the amount being charged. We were disappointed.
Food was overpriced and the portion size was small. Ordered the spaghetti and meatballs for $44 (not included tip and tax, which bumped it up to about $56). It came with four large meatballs and about a cup of spaghetti. The sauce was okay, but tasted like something you'd buy at the grocery store.
