Closed. Like many of the other amenities at this resort.

Overpriced, pizza was terrible. Facilities were filthy. Overflowing garbage, dirty tables, food on the ground.

This convenience store offers very mediocre food at $$$ prices. I don't recommend any of the options.

Quality is close to school cafeteria food and costs more than a sit down restaurant. $33 dollars for a tiny bowl of premade poke and a small vending machine drink. $85 for two personal size pizza and two hot dogs. $72 for four ice cream bowls. Convenient while at the pool, but the menu and food need an overhaul.

When we arrived for check in a 50.00 resort fee was added as well as a 48.00 parking fee. These extra fees were added to an expensive nightly room rate that you would think would cover these costs, it puts a bad taste in your mouth. My husband had one drink at the pool bar, very expensive 18.00 with tip for average quality. Because there is virtually no shade around the pool areas. We rented a cabana so that was another 100.00 dollars. We did not eat any meals at the hotels because very expensive. We did buy 2 ice cream cones for the grandchildren and 30.00. This is excessive. On the radio recently we have been hearing about local Kaimaaina rates for rooms, bar drinks etc. NO SUCH THING, so false advertising. Instead of feeling like we were at a nice resort, we came away feeling like we had a low quality experience where we were being gouged at every turn. We will not be returning Bonnie and Tom McCarroll

Lots of hidden fees including , daily parking and reservation fees to use any of the amenities on the grounds. Restaurants on the resort are not good. Our family all got sick from sandwiches at the Lagoon Grill and the food is mediocre. Overall a beautiful place to stay but what seems like a good deal ends up being expensive.

I went to the luau went to a lot events for breakfast dinner bars and they were all great. The only thing that was a bit lackluster was the spa the massage wasn’t worth the $600 dollars but it’s was okay.

I've been to Hawaii about two dozen times and this property is the worst experience ever. I was there for a conference so I didn't have a choice of locations to stay. That said, there was no greeting by staff with Leis. In fact, no greeting at all. No one to help with the luggage. There’s no natural beach. The lagoon looks/feels dirty. The dolphins need much more room -- it's sad. The rooms need to be updated. The chair in ours was stained and dirty and we were in the Makai building. Their Waters Edge breakfast had 20 empty tables and less parties than that waiting more than 20 minutes to be seated. The restaurant also had no outside seating and the doors were all closed making it hot and stuffy. With so many people inside the enclosed space, it felt like a Covid petri dish. The price of food vs. the value is way off. Plus, this is the first Hawaiian hotel I've ever seen to not have umbrellas at the pool. Your are forced people to pay for $150 a day for a cabana just for some shade. Most people save a lifetime to have a Hawaii experience and this one is so far off from anything close a good one.

Extremely inconvenient build and location. Ocean tower view is beyond terrible in terms of accessibility. No Ubers can pick up drop off at ocean tower. You have 1 main entrance for thousands of people. That 1 main entrance is a half mile walk for the ocean tower. The “tram” goes 5 mph is an absolute joke. Your design is pretty bad and I’m exhausted from all my walking.

A beautiful resort with lots to keep families occupied. But know there is a LOT of walking, a LOT of hilly walkways and a LOT of stairs! They also need many more beach chairs. And we went in slow season. A great breakfast buffet. It would be good if they also had a dinner buffet. Food spots are very limited. Clean, comfy and beautiful.

We booked an Ocean view room in the Palace tower. Upon check in we were upgraded to " Makai" tower. Get to the room and look at a roof top, parking lot and a peek of the ocean. Not really an "upgrade". We call down to front desk and were immediately changed to a Place tower ocean view. Beautiful view of the grounds. Ocean out front, lagoon, and pool views as well. The room itself is very spacious. The room will be cleaned every 4th day. Which is fine and they will bring towels, coffee etc anytime you need them quickly. As for the transportation...in the Palace tower you can walk anywhere you need to go. The palace tower is centrally located and did not find walking as tedious as most people claim. When the tram was close we got on it. If it was not worth waiting then we walked. Food yes is expensive but it is on the whole island. The pools were super fun. Snorkeled in the lagoon, went down water slides had a blast. However, I knew going in that the parking was 44 a day. Kind of excessive. Our room after day two had a musty smell. We thought it was due to running ac all day. opened the door... was then tolerable. But unless the door was open it smelled of sour milk...we were only their for 4 night so left it alone. Day 3 get a text rating our stay. brought up the smell and the response was along the lines of glad you enjoyed your visit. umm ok? Overall, the few hiccups were the minus 1 star. If you read all these reviews you will have an expectation on what to expect. The 1 and 2 star reviews are only lack of planning. Its very clear this is a large resort, Yes, it is pricey, but your in a beautiful spot, slow down, breath, walk, stop worrying about the tram...You'll be fine.

Excellent resort with all the amenities. We stayed here in Sept after having to rebook from a planned Maui stay and still disappointed we didn't get to see Maui but can't complain about this resort. Resort was clean and had a relaxing feel to it (though there weren't many kids given the time of year so not sure what it's like during school vacation). There is also a dolphin pool on the resort and you can watch them feed them and perform. We stayed in a Palace Tower room, 7th floor facing the Beach Golf Course. Very nice room, large, clean, could use an update in the near future, but no complaints. As there are multiple buildings spread out across the resort there is a small train that interconnects them all and is convenient at least during check-in/out when one has luggage. The down slide is it is slow. I'd estimate about 3mph b/c people could walk aside it at about the same speed. There is also a boat, as a canal runs along side the train tracks, but it is slower and not suitable for luggage. The boat, at least during Sept, only ran from mid-afternoon until about 10pm. The train ran morning to evening. Resort had a nice large pool as well as a somewhat smaller one (but still good sized) at the other end of the resort. There was also a lagoon fed from the ocean but no actually beach/ocean access. Prices are high for food (e.g. $51 / person for buffet breakfast per day) so we bought the Inclusive package that included a breakfast and dinner for each day as well as drinks and tickets for the Luau. IMO this should be called the mostly-inclusive package as it didn't include lunch and water equipment (paddleboards, etc.) were limited to one hour once per day, otherwise you paid extra. But all in all this package was worth purchasing (must be done prior to arrival). And the package also included daily self-parking. If you wanted shade by the pool you need to rent a cabana (~$100 for two people for the day) or be early and grab one of the few umbrellas. Adjacent to the resort are 3 nine-hole golf courses. We played the Beach course one day. It's fairly wide open with some holes right on the water and volcanic rock as part of the hazards on some holes.

Over priced and under whelmed. Stood in a huge line in the heat for ONE person to check in 400 people. Seating is below average. 2 drink stations .. ONE bartender. Ate the food because I was hungry not because it was good. Show is boring and repetitive. Not impressed Hilton ?

Very disappointing stay. If you go, be prepared to walk A LOT. There is pretty good distance between the towers, restaurants, parking lot etc. We stayed in one of the non-refurbished rooms in the Ocean Tower. It looked basically unchanged since it was built in the 70's or 80's. There is a dearth of dining options (none in our section). I would recommend staying at the Marriott next door which has a beautiful sandy beach which the Hilton does not. Bring your walking shoes if you go...

The Hilton Waikoloa was a lovely place to go with my son. The place is huge (be prepared to walk... more on that below) , the environs very beautiful, clean, and the staff really welcoming. The Room: Pros: Our room was a good size, very clean and the ocean view was spectacular! And the bed was super cozy! Cons: The bathroom is very large but has no shelving to put anything on. The closet has shelving which prevented the ability to properly hang a dress. Very odd. Our room was located in the Palace Tower (aka Siberia) which is VERY far from the reception area, parking, and pools. It is also the only location that does not have a place to get morning coffee. This was really inconvenient. A tram runs from the reception area to the Palace Tower but does not run frequently enough. I definitely got my steps in on this trip from getting morning coffee to getting to the car. If it is afternoon/evening you can take a little boat which is lovely but that comes even less frequently than the tram. The Food: We found the food disappointing and EXTREMELY expensive. Our first day we stopped at their little lagoon-side restaurant. The ambiance was lovely, and we were excited to sit, eat, and watch the dolphins. The food was awful; I had to return my fish tacos and sadly the burger I was served in its place was undercooked and I could barely eat it. For the 2 of us with one drink the bill was over $70! One morning we went to the breakfast buffet. It was mostly good but I couldn't consume $50 worth of food! Also I was looking forward to some heavenly island fruit but most of it was unripe; very sad to have green-tinged pineapples (go to even a Safeway to get a pineapple..way less expensive and delicious). There was an Englishman who did make an awesome omelet though! Of particular note: Our sever Uluani was one of the most delightful people to everyone and it was such a pleasure to be there with that kind of service. The 2nd time we went to the buffet the food was awful- cold, soggy potatoes, oily bacon, etc. They did comp us that time as it was pretty bad. After that, we stopped eating at the resort except for coffee and croissants in am (the latte was close to $9 so brace yourselves). The lagoon was fun but renting a paddle board or kayak was ridiculously expensive even with the much-hyped resort "discount" you get (per the outrageously expensive daily resort + tax fee they tack on to your bill). Also, the lagoon is small with swimmers, snorkelers, aquatic turtles (they are the best) and fish all vying for space. Besides kayaks and paddle boards, they rent sit on "boats" that you peddle (one looks like a giant tricycle and one a purple dragon). They are too big for the space and we often saw them run into people and turtles. It made our experience a little less pleasurable because of them. Misc. Parking: The parking fees were ridiculous and cost me almost as much as my car rental per day. The self-parking lot was even farther from our room, large and uncovered so very hot! Oddly, the valet wasn't much more expensive per day so that is the way to go. There are a few little shopping centers about a mile away. There is a shuttle but again, there is a $5 fee per person which we found offensive. It was cheaper to tip our valet $5 and drive. Connectivity On 3 separate occasions, I had needed to contact the front desk via telephone from my room but they never answered on any of those occasions. I did find the operator very helpful in their place, fortunately. Overall I found the place great for what I needed at the time. It is VERY expensive and it does require a lot of patience or the ability to walk extensively to get around. I would recommend not eating onsite due to the poor food quality we experienced and the exorbitant prices. if you're going as a family you might find staying at a place with a kitchen that is close to a nice beach more economical.
