Enjoyed an onolicious Birthday & Happy Boys day dinner with our Maui ohana! Teishoku B is our go to with the always perfectly delicious teriyaki steak, fresh ahi sashimi & shrimp/vegetable tempura. Our 2 ladies had the new Teishoku G tonight with ono teriyaki chicken, fresh ahi sashimi (that we get to eat because they don't 😋) & perfectly battered shrimp/vegetable tempura. I used to love Tokyo Tei and when I moved back to Maui, that’s the first place I wanted to eat at but my mother refused. She said it was terrible and no way is she going back. Then a year later my son said they had new owners/cooks and food was excellent. I’ve been there twice this week and I agree. The food was just like the old days. The prices were pretty high, about $30/person. Plenty of free parking and great service so I highly recommend you try the new TT out!
It's hidden on the lower floor of a strip mall/business center. They have lunch specials that gives you a good value for the amount of food you order. They are known for their tempura and it was crispy. However, the batter for the shrimp one was a little too thick. The veggies were crispy but some of them needs to be drained a little longer. The pieces of veg tempura was eating too greasy and oily. Kalbi was a little fatty and mushy rice. Miso soup was a nice start and seasoned...
