Amazing food but the service was lacking

Food not very good. The fried chicken and fried pork were ok. Calamari and every other dish was subpar. Not impressed, not recommended, would not go again.

We love dining here! Sinigang baboy! ( pork meat soup ), Filipino Bistek ( filipino style teriyaki steak ) and bicol express (fried pork chucks with coconut milk, onions, and chili peppers with a bit of fermented shrimp paste). Those are our go-to dishes, if we are really hungry, we add the crispy calamari. Super friendly staff. I wish they served beer 🍺. It is what it is, though. It doesn't take away from the food and service. Their deserts are pretty delicious too. Definitely recommend this restaurant for dining in. Take out is not a great option. Better to eat it when it's hot and crispy!

The way I try to rate a restaurant is by quality of food, drinks, service, price and atmosphere. I'll say that we were a bigger party for the end of the evening. However we were rushed to order with urgency from staff as the kitchen was getting ready to close so I'm sure this experience is not the normal as most reviews are good. That being said the price of the dishes are reasonable and the service was fine. The food was disappointing and tasteless. An overwhelming amount of food that did not look thoroughly cooked while some looked very over cooked. I was very excited to try the laing but was completely tasteless, I did not bother to try any of the other dishes. The buko ice cream was good. Would I come back....no.....would this be on my recommendations for authentic filipino comfort food....no there are many other places that have great flavor. Again not sure if this had anything to do with the time of our visit but I do know majority of our group did not enjoy the food here.

Well what can I say when it comes to Filipino food this is the go to spot. I will say that often. Times the food comes out quick and they are mostly family style serving which is great for everyone to pass around and eat, the chicken is my favorite and pancit. I also enjoy desserts like their ube ice cream. The place can be a bit pricey and with large party of people ordering can become challenging and we've definitely spent over $200 here on multiple occasions

Ive never really had a bad experience here until last night. We had a party of 12. Our server started off OK, but after he took our order he barely came back to check on our table. We were waiting a long time for our last 2 dishes. Wheen we were finally able to catch him and ask him about it, he was rudely said ya I check and walked off before we could ask for more napkins and water. There were several large parties that night, but service is usually still good. My kids wanted to order dessert, but he never came back again so we had to wave down another worker just to order some. The food was good, but service last night was really bad and left a bad impression on our guests visiting.
We will not be coming back for large parties anymore. Also, ask for the itemized receipt. They will not give you a copy of that one, just the amount. Don't double tip, I'm sure they already add the gratuity.

Too crowded! It's good if you like philipino food.....I would say 98% of the clientele is philipino. Was invited to a birthday party.
The set menu for 20 people, nothing
special:fried chicken salty, the soup tasteless and cold.Oxtail soup the meat
very hard, the best was the white rice.

I love visiting Max of Manila whenever I'm in the mood for delicious Filipino cuisine. The restaurant has a wonderfully clean and inviting atmosphere that enhances the dining experience. My go-to dishes are the chicharon bulaklak, bulalo, and fish sinigang—they're always cooked to perfection! Recently, we celebrated a special occasion there, and it was the perfect choice. Our server was not only attentive but also incredibly friendly and humorous, adding to the overall enjoyment of our meal. We had a fantastic time and can't wait to return!
