Thelma's restaurant is a Filipino food establishment in waipahu off of farrington highway. Who is recommended to me buy an employee at foodland in Pearl City.My wife wanted to eat a vegetable dish called Pinabet. And I wanted to have some chicken adobo fried rice. And we ordered vegetable lumpia and banana lumpia.I ordered on the phone and I picked up at the restaurant. It was 2:00 p.m. and the restaurant was empty. My order was waiting for meThe Pinabet is what my wife wanted. She rated at 8 out of 10 Stars. It has a traditional taste that she was looking for.I ordered chicken adobo fried rice. iPhone 7 pieces of bone in, and the flavor wasn't that good it was kind of bland it could have been better I'll give it one star out of five. The vegetable lumpia was old and oily. It should be crispy and delicious but it wasn't.The banana lumpia was fresher. It was crisp and it was tasty that was good.My feeling is that they make cafeteria style food that sits around for a while. It's not really fresh food cook to order. This was a disappointment don't spend your money at Thelma'sAnd don't spend your money at Max's of Manila, because it's racist. If you're not Filipino you're not going to get good service. We waited in line for like an hour and Filipino people passed the spine and went right in the restaurant just because we're Japanese we were treated as second-class citizens. Max's of Manila is racist.Mahalo Wes n Wanda - Mililani Hawaii 2 -2023

We were tired from a day of hiking and couldn’t decide where to eat. We thought Filipino food would be homey and just hit the spot for us. Googled and this was the closest from where we were. Closing time was 8:30 and we’d get there by 8pm. We decided we’d take out food so we didn’t bother them too much. But when we got there, we were greeted with warmth and love. We said we didn’t want to bother them but they insisted we dined in. Food was great and fresh. We even ordered takeout for breakfast. I’d recommend this place.

$35 and almost 30 minutes' wait to get bland, dry, and overcooked lechon kawali, gristly and cheap beef in our squash, and literally lumpia bought at Costco that we could have made ourselves at home. Hugely disappointing for a restaurant with the rating it currently has.Add to that the fact that they took our original order, was told by the kitchen staff after several minutes that they couldn't make what we ordered, and yet they still wanted us to pay the few cents' difference for what we accepted as a substitute.

Walked in during switch over, three waitresses were at the tending to the register. I waited for a good seven minutes and asked should we seat ourselves? She replied, yeah because we done right now, we finish work.(I took it as rude). The food arrived, & clearly was burnt! We made comments on the food condition, she just walked away. We really enjoy Thelma's, but today was especially ? awful. I hope this gets to the right person.Signed,Disappointed!(3x)

Thelma's - home of the famous and original lechon kawali. They keep their prices low and offer large portions of quality food along with great customer service.

Wow! Just Wow! We wanted to try something different & found this little restaurant in a strip mall. We told the cheerful waitress we’d never had Filipino food & she took time helping us choose 2 excellent dishes & served it promptly. I had the Mixed Plate with Chicken Adobo & Pancit. The chicken was very flavorful & the noodle/veggie mixture was in a heavenly broth. My wife had Thelma’s Special with Chicken Adobo & Lechan Kawali (a yummy pork tomato dish). We are a fan of the food and the service. Our 2 dinners plus drinks cost less than every dinner we had in our entire 2 weeks in Hawaii. What a deal. Thanks for a great meal!
