About Jethro's BBQ

Jethro's BBQ is a sports bar with TVs everywhere, big casual booths, and a loud atmosphere that fits a BBQ place. The smell of smoke hits in the parking lot. The menu is a wall of smoked meats and scratch-made sides. The meat is smoked good with proper flavor and tenderness. The baby back ribs have a proper smoke ring and clean pull off the bone. Brisket slices have good bark, tender without being mushy. The Jethro pork tenderloin sandwich is very crispy and tasty. The Iowa pork tenderloin sandwich is pounded thin, breaded, and fried, hanging past the bun. The mac and cheese is house-made, thick and genuinely cheesy. The fried pies with ice cream for desert are outstanding. Sauces are excellent, all house recipe and clearly labeled by heat. The Georgia Mustard sauce is good. Cocktails are flavorful and good size. Service is fast and friendly. One server was like 3 steps ahead, never had to ask for a refill or boxes. Multiple Des Moines metro locations are consistent. Parking is a little weird.
