Piece & Freedom Bakery Reviews
Ames is so lucky to have this wonderful bakery here on Main Street! We especially like the multi grain and traditional rye breads, and we are just starting to try their cakes and pastries. Everything we have had is delicious and the quality you would find in a fine European pastry shop. We split a piece of the Kyiv cake for dessert this evening, and it was excellent. Highly recommended!
The lemon pistachio cookies in the Sviato boxes are amazing! These unique boxes are a perfect holiday gift idea.
Absolutely stunning food! We had pavlova, spinach raspberry cake, and a quiche. All of it was amazing. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. They have all sorts of descriptions of the food on the walls that give a history of the food from Ukraine. As someone from Minnesota, I would come back here just for this place.

Piece & Freedom Bakery in downtown Ames offers a variety of delicious pastries, including the popular onion-ricotta-Gruyère Galette. The staff is welcoming and the treats are fresh and not overly sweet. Customers enjoy the carrot, green onion, tomato, potato, and cabbage pastries. The bakery also features a selection of baked goods like stollen, cherry & chocolate cookies, and Kyiv cake, which is appreciated for its balanced sweetness. The sourdough bread looks very good, and the bakery is considered a hidden gem not far from the interstate. Many visitors love the cabbage rollini, Kiev cake, spinach raspberry cake, and shortbread cookies, making it a favorite spot for locals and travelers alike. This Ukrainian bakery has quickly become a community favorite and a lovely addition to Main St.
