Always great pizza. I would usually rate it higher. We ordered a slice and drink. Slices were not ready yet due the volume of diners. The server said she would bring them out. After 5 minutes I went to check and someone else was running the window. He quickly got our slices with no problem.
The pizza is just as good as I remembered it from 45 years ago! The cheese and crust just set it apart from other pizzas. The thick wheat crust still tastes great with honey. One pizza fed us from 2 meals. I look forward to going back whenever I back to Ames.
Great Plains pizza is the best. My favorite is the Prairie Special with extra sauce on their thick white crust. I live 40 minutes away and it's worth the drive. If you haven't tried it yet you should. Awesome pizza!!!
