“The absolute best Japanese food in central Iowa. We go here every 6 weeks and we've never had a bad experience. We've tried most items on the menu and it's hard to decide because every meal is great. Our very picky kids even love the food here. There is Japanese soda in fruity flavors and they've tried every flavor. When our kids have colds they ask us to get Mizu's miso soup to bring home. It's a family favorite!Kid-friendliness: The kids' menu has a plate with a lot of delicious options: hibachi veggies, chicken (delicious!), noodles, and rice. Whatever mood your kid is in, they'll leave filled.“
“Third sushi joint I’ve been to in Iowa. Food was good. Very tasty and a large menu of options. Place was crowded so the service was slower than expected. We were a group of 6 plus a baby. Table was plenty big enough for all of us. Plenty of parking options. Would definitely come back again.Parking: Tons of parking. This won’t be an issue. We shoes up at 6pm on Saturday.“
“This is now our go-to restaurant when we want to impress our guests! The food is always phenomenal and the environment both fun yet casual-elegant. The service is of the highest quality and the server always puts on a high energy show - we love them! The amount of food and the quality of food keeps us coming back for more!“
“Love this place. The food is top notch and It’s reasonably priced. In an area of BBQ and Americana, this is a nice break for some variety. We got several sushi rolls as well as some noodle bowls. Just so tasty. My only critiques are the service was a little longer than expected (worth it) and most rolls were just slight variations of California rolls or had mango. So not a lot of variety, but I didn’t care as they were all so good. The owner even noticed I had an Utah area code and connected over it. Great place!“
“I love Haiku so much! The sushi genuinely tastes fresh and the service here is always amazing. Our server was so kind and made the experience that much better. The ambiance of the place is nice - they have beautiful blue lights that feel futuristic. Overall, an incredible sushi place and I would highly recommend.“
“JUST got done eating there, 1st which I didn't want to cause a fuss, my steak was well done NOT medium rare like I ordered and I asked to split the shrimp and steak like have the half order of steak and half order of shrimp and our server said, "Sure no problem" well got the check and was charged an extra 4 bucks and when asked about it our server said, " I asked my manager and they said we couldn't do that" well that would have been nice to know, horrible service!“
“The sushi was fresh and very flavorful. A great variety of rolls, both raw and cooked. I felt the menu was great to categorize the spice levels of the rolls. Restaurant was clean and our server was attentive. Definitely worth a visit. We will be back again.“
“Tasty & well prepared food, adequate accommodation of food allergies, friendly & accommodating staff.P.s,You get to choose how spicy you want each individual dish. They provide a 1-10 scale for reference .Vegetarian options: Stir fry, curry, salads, & spring rollsDietary restrictions: They accommodate my shell fish allergy when preparing sushi.Parking: It's located in a strip mall with public parking available.Wheelchair accessibility: They have a wheelchair ramp.“
“I went there twice when I was in town. The first time I had miso soup and vegetarian sushi for lunch and that was 5/5. I went again after 2 days for dinner and the vegetarian sushi wasn't as good as the first time, still not bad at all!“
“We went to Hokkiado Ramen House on 4/1/2024 and the food came quick and it was so good! Also the ambience was perfect and customer service was excellent! whenever I want to eat ramen, I will always come to this place. Excellent restaurant, baby!“
