Trailside Tap is a must-visit in Ankeny! The back patio is amazing. The Berry Summer Salad and Three Pepper Burger were packed with flavor and just the right size. And do yourself a favor—order the Mulberry Mule. You won’t regret it!
Service was good

We had heard good things about this place a while back and wanted to try it out.

We should’ve went to Wig and Pen or Sportspage, they never disappoint

The staff is friendly and quick to seat guests, ensuring a welcoming experience. With reasonable drink prices and a wide selection of beer on tap, there is something for everyone. The menu is one page long with options appealing to most tastes.
The Trailside burger is a must-try, juicy and full of flavor, cooked to perfection. While some dishes, like the crab cakes, may be average, they are cooked perfectly with crispy tastes. The fries are fried and have a distinct fried taste. Many find the food better than typical bar food, making it a good choice after a bike ride. The restaurant is also accommodating for families, offering a few kid-friendly options. It is wheelchair accessible, providing easy access for all guests. Although service can be slow at times, the cozy patio atmosphere in the evening, along with good drinks and appetizers like chips and dip and Brussels sprouts, makes it a highly recommended spot.
