Would absolutely recommend Uptown Dairy. Growing up near the WI border my family enjoyed Cedar Crest ice cream as a special treat and I’m happy to see it here in Iowa! Hands down some of the best small batch ice cream I’ve ever had and plenty of variety to choose from. I love that Uptown Dairy is right by the High Trestle Trail Ankeny trailhead and makes for a perfect treat after a long ride. Absolutely fantastic place, not just for the delicious ice cream but the atmosphere! Located in an up and coming area of Ankeny and right on the High Trestle Trail, the building is clean and has so much natural sunlight. Plenty of space to come in after riding with the family, and a place to park your bike right out front. Owner is always friendly and staff can answer questions about the rotating flavors.
