Stopped here while on a road trip home. Friendly staff, clean and really great food at a good price. We'll definitely stop again next time we drive through!

The best Mexican food around!

I have been to many Mexican restaurants and this one is a diamond in the rough. Located in the cute little town of Bedford. The Al pastor plate was the best I have ever had. My husband and I will definitely be back. If you want the real taste of Mexican food than Tampico is definitely your place. This is better than any Mexican restaurant I have eaten at in all of California even by the border!

Im giving a 5 star because service was great but I had an issue with the price of the chicken chimichanga dinner. Every Mexican restaurant we go to 90% of the time i order a chicken chimichanga meal and it always is served with white melted cheese on top and its included in the price. My son and I got the same meal and we each were charged $3.50 a piece just for the cheese which should have already been included in the toppings.

Good service, mediocre food, bad side portions, comically large plates, stuck in the bathroom for the rest of the day.

If you've ever been to Mexico and eaten someplace other than a resort, you'll get an idea what authentic Mexican food is. Plenty of chicken, eggs, various ground meat, tortillas, etc. But there's a brand of homemade to it of course, in the quality and presentation.

I see that come through at Tampico. The dishes are Americanized, yes. But they're done well and some of the stewed or simmered meat dishes like carnitas are especially yummy and remind me of time in Jalisco.

And yes, the margaritas can be purchased in XL.

Service is quick and nimble. And they've done the best you can do with a main street building that is 10x deeper than it is wide.

I award five star reviews sparingly, but I think they deserve it... Arguably among the best Mexican restaurants I've dined in across the country.
