Gravastar Coffee (Formerly Coffee Hound)

This my favorite coffee shop to go get iced coffee or hot coffee ☕️! I love their housemade syrups that they make!!

My first experience at Gravastar was this weekend on my way back to Chicago after spending the weekend in Iowa City. I was a former semi-frequent customer of Coffee Hound and found this to be a great experience. I ordered the Velvet Underground Latte from their winter menu and found it to be delicious (not too sweet, not too bitter).

Service was prompt and helpful and the shop is located in a bustling little neighborhood commercial node off 53rd.

The cafe also sells local wares and has a drive-thru.

A new favorite cafe of mine in the Quad Cities. The coffee menu has an abundance of options, including several sugar-free. There is quite a bit of seating, a cute atmosphere, plenty of parking, and even the option to drive through for pickup. I will definitely revisit when I’m in the area!

I always enjoy coming here and getting my regular drinks! I decided to try something new on the fall menu and addi asked me how I liked it. I had told her I didn’t really like it, so she made me a new drink! Big shoutout to her for being super sweet and giving great customer service!

Even after personally moving out of bettendorf, I make the drive to get my coffee from here every day I can. You cant beat the morning crew service anywhere else in the QC, the coffee taste, or the balance of a good latte.

The staff was friendly, ordering easy, and no problems with accuracy.
Got a fall special latte and it was not good. Bitter and lacking flavors described.
The quiche was very crust heavy (and it wasn't great) and was lacking in salt.
I'm not a huge fan of QR menus but I understand they have a lot of options and it's hard to post them all.
I might give it a 2nd try but nothing about my visit today has me rushing back, and I don't feel satisfied in having spent $18 on that breakfast.

This is a fun little coffee shop. One of the things I like best about them is their selection of delicious coffees. They will prepare anything you want as long as they have the ingredients on hand. I also love their bagged coffee that you can purchase to take home. A big perk for me is that they will actually grind it for you and then seal it back into the package. My friend and I love to stop there whenever we’re both in town. We often times we will stay in the cozy atmosphere either inside by the fireplace or outside on the terrace and we can talk for hours and enjoy the coffee. We never feel rushed, and the staff is always Pleasant and accommodating.
It is very nice! We always make it our go to place.

While visiting the QC area from out of town, we stopped by for a late morning treat! We always try to support locally-owned and operated businesses and Gravastar did NOT disappoint!

I like flavor without a lot of extra “stuff” in my coffee, including little to no cream. The barista acknowledged this and recommended the Peanut Butter Pup custom cold brew, Black. It was absolutely delicious!!!

My daughter loves Caramel and chocolate and the barista recommended a California Dream, which is caramel sauce and white chocolate. It received rave reviews from a super picky teen!

My tween son ordered an Orange July-Us smoothie which was fervently consumed and declared to be “Amazing!”

To eat, we also ordered a BAE Breakfast Sammie - it was scrumptious - and a Chicken Bacon Ranch flatbread pizza. Both of these tasted like they were from a restaurant and came out piping hot and packed with flavor. You could tell they were hand-made with care and they were delicious!!!

The ambiance at Gravastar is also so well-constructed. You can tell it was designed and created with intention and clarity that supports their vision and theme very well.

Bravo 👏! Well-done!
