Desi Monks is a small family run place and a hidden gem serving excellent authentic food with many unique options. The restaurant offers authentic Indian and Indo-Chinese dishes, with items like Jalepeno Paneer, Chili Naan, Chicken Dosa, Boneless Chicken Biryani, Moghalai chicken with Naan, Goat dum biryani, Shahi Paneer, Onion Pakoda, and Vegetable Hot and Sour Soup. The staff is extremely warm, welcoming, and friendly, providing quick service in a very clean and hygienic environment. They truly care about their customers and ask for your preferred spice level. However, a word of warning on the spice level: some chicken dishes cannot be made less than medium spicy and may be too spicy. The food is absolutely exceptional, with flavors that dance in the mouth. Best meal in a long time. Don’t expect great ambience, but the food and service are great. The restaurant is clean, cute, and located across the street from the Bettendorf library and children’s museum.
