My wife and I had just crossed the swing bridge into Ft. Madison, Iowa and this little Ma/Pa restaurant named Austos, which is a nod to a son of theirs was just across the intersection and on the left. We were hungry, so we stopped. This is a great place for food!!! We are less into franchises and more into this type of eatery! We ordered some chicken and an Austos pizza in pan crust. We loved the chicken with garlic butter sauce and the cheesy fries, that we wolfed it down...
Austos Family Italian is fantastic! The food was absolutely delicious — everything tasted great and homemade. The people were incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. A wonderful meal with that small town feel. Highly recommend!
