Had the pulled pork sandwich. It was perfect. not drowned in sauce, coleslaw on top, light bun. Pork was fantastic. Tasted the pizza and that was good too. didn't get to try the fried chicken, but it looked and smelled great from across the table.
Fantastic pizza and incredible service. Felt like we were at a family-and-friends backyard pizza party in the best possible way. The pizza was some of the best I've had, and I've been to expensive and fancy pizza joints all around the country. Now I just have to come up with excuses to go back to Iowa!
Smoky Dough is rustic and so is the food. I chose the three-piece broasted chicken with Barb’s (cowboy) beans and coleslaw. The chicken pieces were tiny but tasty; the little pot of beans with hamburger was savory, and the coleslaw was fine. The pepperoni with pineapple pizza was more New York style and bland—without basil or oregano in the sauce, said my husband, who is from Chicago. We heard the food would be delicious from our neighbor, who is not a foodie.
