“Great beer! A very wide selection for all tastes. Food is very good, and they grow their own hops (at least a little bit of it) over the patio in the summer. Love this brewery!”
“Stopped here during a girls weekend. It was not bad but it was not great either. Stopped in a little before 9pm and the kitchen was already closed. Sad considering it was a Friday night and they stay open till 2am. We wanted a snack after having a late lunch that day and struck out. The drinks were not bad. They do not have a full bar, drinks are limited to what sells. It was also very quiet. We were the biggest group with only 2 other groups there. Had a bunch of pool tables, darts, and a few arcade games. But no one was using any of them.Bartender was very attentive and helpful and even did table service.”
“Place was great!! The owner/bartender was really friendly and didn't let our drinks run out! Before we left, he let us know when and what days of the week he has specials going on. Definitely will be back!!”
“Easy to get to, plenty of parking and large dining/drinking area with friendly staff makes this a great place to visit. We did not dine but rather we were interested in doing flights. Beer had interesting names using the names of towns in the area making it fun as we were familiar with most. Our brews were really good and there was a wide variety to choose from. We will go back again and will to recommend the brewery.”
“Sugar Bowl is home to amazing ice cream, but it does not stop there. The customer service provided by the young man who helped me last was off the charts. The creativity of their dishes is next level (think ice cream advent calendars and waffle nachos). Most importantly, their never-ending support of their community makes every bite taste even sweeter.”
“Roomy. Old midwestern hard wood and brick building. Plenty of seating in the middle of the old world charm town of Decorah Iowa. They even have yoga upstairs. The coffee selection is first rate and so are the moening food selections. Starbucks....eat your heart out.”
“Logan’s meats and cheeses in his deli are fresh and the real deal! He’s even going to try to order in some caciocavallo for me- the REAL stinky cheese! The sandwiches he creates are unique and the flavor combos are supreme! GREAT FOOD! Take out only, but so worth it!!”
“I Don't get here as often as I would like. The food is always outstanding. The staff is so friendly and the owners always make a point of visiting your table. The drive and lack of parking are worth the risk. Best to go early. You will not be disappointed. It is pricey. Just be sure to check the menu before you go. The prices are in line with other high end restaurants in the area, but could be a shock if you dont know.”
“Cool little spot for beer! There's seating both inside and outside and the tap list is top notch! We ordered some beers and got some cans to go.The bartenders were great (a girl at first and then a guy came on for the later shift), fantastic service and knowledgeable about the beer they serve. We would definitely come back here for a beer when we visit again.”
“Awesome a great place to go. Great food I would suggest everyone try the "chicken dumplings soup" it is outstanding. Great service even when it is really busy. Hometown atmosphere n it is great.”
“Staying in Decorah for work and stumbled upon this place while out for a bike ride. The building had a very hole in the wall feel to it which I like. Tried the Pour Over Porter (coffee stout 6.8%) and the Oateota (oatmeal milk stout 7.4%) and was pleasantly surprised by both! My only issue was they had the front doors open for open air, and the flies were horrible. But over all a great experience and will be back.*Old review updated to add photo*”
“We are always looking for restaurants that serve healthy real food that also offers gluten free and vegetarian/vegan options and this one is excellent. I loved the bowl I ordered: the perfect blend of ginger, peanut and cilantro atop rice with broccoli, pickled onions and shredded carrot with a flavorful sauce…yum. Our whole family enjoyed our meals. We also got cookies and my only regret is that I didn’t buy more. The GF ginger molasses one I got was so good. We live far away, but I will keep this on my list of places to return. If only all towns had a place like this! Thank youVegetarian options: Everything is vegetarian or veganDietary restrictions: Love how this restaurant caters specifically to gluten free and vegan/vegetarian eaters”
“I love this little bistro gem. It has been my favorite for decades. It's a small place and exceptionally cozy with the mouth watering fragrances from the open kitchen wafting through the air. Their staple Tomato Basil soup is my favorite I've rarely been disappointed by one of their pasta offerings. Great place for intimate conversation and laughs.”
“The first time we ate here it was an insanely great experience. The same can not be said for my second time. Drinks ordered that never came, an entire pizza they didn't make from our order and when ordering the 7 meat pizza it recommends the thin crust but because of how greasy this dish is the crust was literally non existent because it was just a greasy mushy mess. I'm not sure why they'd recommend anything like that for this dish but I think a regular crust would have been a better recommendation considering there would be more of a chance you'd get one at all. The pizza took an hour and 15 minutes from the time we ordered it to get to our table.... over all it wasn't terrible but had a much better experience the first visit. Will be giving it another shot soon.”
“We were from our of town and stopped in for drinks and appetizers. The atmosphere was fun and casual. The drinks were reasonably priced and the appetizers were delicious. We will come back again!”
“Just an all around wonderful experience at Mill Street Mocha! The staff was friendly and the food and drinks were excellent! The pulled pork sandwich was wonderful! “Everything is always great. The food and the service is phenomenal. We drive 2 hours just to eat at the Rubiayat. Thank you Kim and Andy for taking such good care of us! ❤️”
“The place is awesome, the owners are true amazing people. If you ever want some Pizza they have amazing Pizza. Please help support them. They even have a large table for large amounts of people to dine in with very comfortable seating. Give it a ”
“Great drinks, pool table, Foosball, music, and amazing customer service. An absolute must stop if in the area!! The owners are VERY CHILL AND DOWN TO EARTH! Ps... Their prices are definitely the best around!”
“Huge open space, plenty of tables and games and events planned! The ciders are dry or semi-sweet. Very creative profiles like elderberry and lavender. We did a flight of 4x and it was about $10. Great place to stop in for a drink! Stay for a charcuterie board too!”
“Hotel Winneshiek is a great hotel located in the heart of Downtown Decorah. The staff are very welcoming and accommodating and always do their best to make you feel welcome. I would highly suggest visiting the bar and sitting outside for a cocktail. Lots going on here - would be a great place to have a wedding! We will be back.”
“Five stars across the board. We recently moved up to Northern Iowa from Central and needed a new sushi joint. Thank goodness one is Koreana is close by! Met all our needs. Their Lo-Mein and sushi is amazing, Just wish they had Miso Soup!”
“Checks all the boxes traditional breakfast but the pie has me smitten. Lemon curd handpie perfect crust followed up with Boston cream pie. Wonderful day! Back again whole apple pie I knew that crust was more solf and flaky than just butter I had to ask yep it was lard! ”
“Best burger I've had in ages. Then add in the friendly owners and small town atmosphere, you have winner. Ask about the children's book, frosting on the cake.”
“The food is excellent and the servers are friendly and helpful.Parking: There are about 6 spots at the restaurant, but more on the street nearby.Kid-friendliness: The servers are friendly too kids as well as adults. They have seats for kids and are accommodating.”
“Enjoyed conversation with one of the owners and bartender. Patrons were friendly, too, and having a good time. Good drinks mixed with soda from a can (so tired of flat tasteless fountain pop). Will be going back!”
“Love the Mama's granola from Root 43 Juicery. I combine it with fresh yogurt from Country View Dairy near West Union and top with fresh fruit and it is delicious.”
“We utilized U-2 to cater a family reunion for 105 people. They had many choices to choose from and at a very reasonable price. Everyone raves about how good the food was. Obviously, I was very pleased with the services they provided. Nice job, guys!”
